I quickly looked thru the source and it looks like the bitcoin client only uses/sends the from & message fields if you specify an ip address.  Can anyone else verify that these fields are un-used if you specify a bitcoin address?

If they are used to get a message to the other receiving party, are these fields encrypted when sent over the p2p network?

I removed those fields from the integration tree a few days ago so the next release will not have them.
