I think that there are many situations in real life that need just as much research and caution as crypto and people still don't know how to handle them (buying a house, credit, debt) so I don't think it's going to help, honestly. Maybe the lack of regulation makes people generally more cautious but not necessarily smarter.

I reflect on the fact that lack of regulation in the field of crypto currency, gives wide opportunities for scam projects. And it will not be possible to regulate the cryptocurrency, no matter how much the goverments want to do it. In the fact that in the world of crypto, lots of scammers and they remain unpunished, I see one big plus.

People will be forced to learn to be more insightful, calculating and rational or will be scammed. Protection from the state decrease our instinct of self-preservation and slowed our development.

This is the reason why the government wants to regulate ICOs, to avoid scam projects. Yes, they cannot regulate cryptocurrency but they can regulate those companies or entities who would want to launch their own ICO or crowdsale.

Crypto market is "wild jungle" where only the best survive.
There are so many aspects to consider when choosing the project to invest - the idea, the team, their marketing skills and so on. One should be indeed very smart to keep all these things in mind and correctly analyze them.

I doubt that crypto will make them smarter, it just reveals people that want to improve themselves and that are willing to work hard on themselves. "Quick buck" kind of people will always be there and their greediness and a lack of information makes them an easy target for shady "projects" and scammers. Of course, even smart ones can be robbed by a solidly looking project, but they would blame just themselves for this particular mistake, but "QB" people will just get angry for a while and sooner or later they will eventually fall for another. How many people know what a blockchain is at least? They are just a drop in the ocean. On the other hand, a new generation will be raised in this environment /already is/ and it seems like every new will be smarter than their parents and grandparents: they are able to adapt way faster than older generations. Therefore I am full of hope, plus, in my opinion, a younger generation will be smarter and blockchain will be an inseparable part of their life.

I think it won't, people who are obsessed with money would do everything just to have their hands into it. Most of them do things and don't even give time reading what they are doing. Why? because they think it's easy money and most ICOs give the mentality of that by stating bonuses, give aways, raffles etc
