Why dont Butterflylabs display how many watts there devices uses ?

This is a key factor with bitcoin mining as you have to leave them on 24/7 so its important to know its power usage, why would they not display it?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I'm running a BFL 50GH/s Single and it's using 242W. You'll also need a PC to run it so add that to your usage, or use a Rasberry Pi like I am as it uses bugger all. If you want to work/live in the same room you run it from you might also want to factor in cooling as it puts out a bit of heat, and the fans make a bit of noise, but not as much as a Multi GPU mining rig IMO.

Last time I checked, these were the measurements at the wall:

Jalapeno: 35-45W
Little Single: 120-130W
SC Single: 240-250W

Those are ones I've tested directly. I've heard that a typical 500GH MR is ~1200-1300W.

Tips? 1crazy8pMqgwJ7tX7ZPZmyPwFbc6xZKM9

Because BitFury kicks it's ass. I'm currently seeing 43GH/s for 59W from their 55nm chips.  Wink
