smartcoin, when do you plan to implement Kimoto's Gravity Well? Any plans as to make this unique? Maybe adding in anonymous messaging like Neocoin?

All of those features would require a hard fork. In order for something like that to go smoothly, careful planning must be done and ideally it should only happen once in the entire lifetime of a coin. Even once is too many, but due to pressure by the community, I stuck with the original release date.

At least at this point you only need to talk to 1 pool to make sure the majority goes onto the right fork  Grin

Normally, we'd release the new client with the new changes implemented at a certain block, but at that moment it still behaves like a regular client. That way, by the time that block is reached a lot of the people have updated and all is left is to remove any remnants of the old code after the block number has ben hit and release a new client with no actual changes that require a fork. I'd like a few more people knowledgeable enough to help me out with the task. I don't want anything to go wrong. Of course, bounties will be provided.

As I told, we did it with LPC and it worked very fine. Maybe there are some other ideas for the hard fork. Diff retarget would be nice, even if the smc retarget is very fast. But the Kimoto's Gravity Well is the best.

Even if this coin has a great name with a lot of marketing possibilities... smart ppl., etc... it would be nice to have something more. The Neocoin idea with the massages is not bad. Even the Scrypt-Adaptive-Nfactor from Vertcoin is nice, but not so easy, I think. Any ideas?

Ask the dev from LeproCoin, he did a great job with the relaunch to Kimoto's Gravity Well. Maybe he´ll help you for some bounties.

The online wallet shows 51.5961 but if I look at http://chain.getsmartcoin.com/ it shows only 0.000011 SMC?  Huh WTF man. I lost all my coins and I am pissed. Can't mine anything too. I was really glad to be one of the early adaptors but I'm left with nothing. Too bad Smiley Should have never used the online wallet mentioned in the OP. Wish you guys all the best with SMC though.

I sold my 15k smartcoins, the devs do not want to promote their currencies, make no return on the forum and the community and smaller every day.
I believed in that currency but unfortunately the silence of the devs, and the fact that nothing is updated is critical for his futur.
Get access to http://coinmarketcap.com, will not save the coin if the community is too small :/

Devs answering in this forum. I hope, you didn't sold at 0.00032 because it will be hard to buy back now at this price. When coins are announced on CoinMarketCap, they usually grow up. So, maybe it would be good to sell few days later.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!!

SMC Online wallet is a SCAM!!

How can SmartCoin people promote the online wallet: http://wallet.t-hash.com/ if this is a SCAM?

I expect some generosity from the Smartcoin folks otherwise this the proof this is not a credible alternative e-coin... What a shame!!!!

Can someone explain me why hordes of people trust their coins to online wallets? I honestly don't see it, you're trusting your coin to a complete stranger with usually no prior reputation of any kind, when it takes all of 4 seconds to download and run the wallet on your PC. Want to have access to it anywhere? Put it on a USB stick.

Online wallets are the crypto equivalent of leaving your wallet with notes sticking out of it on the dashboard of your parked car.

I made the same mistake and lost about 52 SMC. The answer is simple: It was promoted by the developer. Maybe he has got nothing to do with the online wallet, but he did put the link as being part of the startup of this coin and a lot of people, including me, thought it could do no harm to keep the initial coins there.

I recently launched a store, and am selling 0% fees to all of my other pools for $1!!! Also selling computer parts and some other stuff =)
Prices are listed in USD, but I will accept SMC equivalent! =D

Check it out!!

store.cryptotycoons.com

Also feel free to post items for sale! Its a craigslist style store. Currently prices are listed in $$ due to how unstable the prices are.
In a future release there will be live conversions to various alt coins at the time of listing.
The site handles no coin/money; similar to craigslist, you send an email to the owner to begin negotiations.

When the Devs promote it on their official page is hard not to trust it. Stupids are the one who still believe in this crappy supported coin with no future whatsoever... When the people in charge mislead the early adopters everything is said. And that link is still there... Any doubts???

It wasn't actively promoted by the dev, the creator of it claimed a reward, and it was listed as an online wallet is all.

Doesn't matter who "promotes" it, any online wallet has a huge red target on its back. Even large and reputable online wallets have been hacked over time. There is absolutely NO reason to use or trust an online wallet. When they don't scam you they still get hacked, frequently. History has proven they are NOT SAFE and you guys put your trust in one that's been online for literally days?
