(⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■)

Story
After an enormous success of DogeCoin, LennyCoin team decided to create another, even more awesome coin. We've lately observed a lot of new coins, most of them falling faster than arising (for example: CatCoin).
Long days of struggle allowed us to finally announce the LennyCoin, the second ideal cryptocurrency after DOGE.

Information

Premine: 0%, nothing, zero, null, ゼロ, nulo
Block reward: ~100 LENNY (50 LENNY or 150 LENNY)
Block time: 3 minutes
Retarget: every 240 blocks (~12 hours)
Starting difficulty: 0.00024414
Max supply: 100 000 000.
Reward halving interval: 500 000 blocks
Source code: removed

people need to understand that a pool at launch is not a good idea. give solo miners a chance or else interest falls. Smiley

I own crypto jewelers shop and I would like to buy some lenny coins so I can get some earrings made for my store
Sure I'll sell you some, PM me in 1 hour and 30 minutes  Roll Eyes

You can then print them and make very pretty earrings!

yes yes, at what rate would you sell me if I purchase in litecoins
I don't know yet, depends on difficulty jump etc. What do you offer?

wouldn't recommend it tbh unless you had some high hash rates you'll just get orphan after orphan at launch Sad

This works for me

stratum+tcp://lenny.happyminers.net:1333

This does not work for me:

stratum+tcp://s1.happyminers.net:1333

Hope that helps.

they always have a good pool for new coins...
that's why I mining also with them now...

btw NEThash is dropping like hell... probably because of next diff.  (est 11 in 150 blocks)

http://lennycoin-pool.tk/ IS DOWN DUE TO INSUFFICENT SERVER SPECIFICATION. IT WILL BE TURNED ON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO ENABLE YOU TO PAY OUT YOUR LENNYCOINS.
Switch to other pools.

I had good payouts on lennycoin-pool.tk (20 to 90 per round) and now on happyminers less than 1 per round  Undecided
Autopayout at lennycoin-pool also triggered, so fortunately my coins are not lost.

Linux compile 2nd try:
 ld returned 1 exit status

???what does it mean?

It is the same error as for the dogecoin wallet
try :
$ sed -i 's/-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53//g' lennycoin-qt.pro
before :
$qmake
$make

then compilation was ok for me

I found 0 block, anyway I must admit that it was a successful launch, on time with a customize wallet.

yes this is normal when you start the pool's always reject and orphane much. But at Doge and Moon I've had luck with a powerful pool. With 200Khash for 4hours 30 € company. Wink

and solo is almost the same so I usually start with extremely many reject and orphane

the low diff is to blame

no tha'ts the issue i mean, the last few forks of coins have been because the dev allows a pool at launch time and all miners go to the pools and then it forks.

a coin should be launched with no pool to allow it to build up peers and get through the chain and offer a truly "fair" launch. IMO

I've seen this strange behaviour on other coins before. IMO there is an error in the wallets calculating the nethashrate.

no tha'ts the issue i mean, the last few forks of coins have been because the dev allows a pool at launch time and all miners go to the pools and then it forks.

a coin should be launched with no pool to allow it to build up peers and get through the chain and offer a truly "fair" launch. IMO

Yeah right... and let all geeks to compile all before others and let them mine first... and the rest would wait for pool...
Very equal...

There should be just more pools at start or adjustment of coin to not give any coins at start but later after hundred blocks or more to make time to create new pools.

Happyminers > 51%??

yep, blame pools on launch for it. STOP POOLS ON LAUNCH PEOPLE

yes this is normal when you start the pool's always reject and orphane much. But at Doge and Moon I've had luck with a powerful pool. With 200Khash for 4hours 30 € company. Wink

This one had, but less than 120s after links were posted, 500 blocks were already mined by whoever knows.
Only way to do it faster than what I did is to have a 100Mb connection just next to mega.co.nz, and be lucky on the first sync.
A git clone + compilation takes at least 1mn to 2mn too, + min 30s to sync, so someone must have gotten the sources/wallet before it's published. This or those 500 blocks (2 diff retargets) were mined in 30s by a lucky guy who has a perfect connection.

Straight out of clean litecoin/dogecoin fork and many hours spent on testing, adjusting the coin itself and making wallets available for you from start.
Further updates to the code are coming, as well as MacOS-qt (as soon as our mac dev resolves some problems).

How do you know it is a good pool? No individual stats and no payout after 1 hour of mining. So I have no idea if it is a good pool or not.

Yeah I was in official pool from the start (20:00:00 sharp) and it was at least 1 block every second. Total madness.
Payout was shit though Wink And now the server is down for over an hour, so who knows what happened to our coins.

Let me think... oh! Since the coingen.io hasn't received the payment, we can safely assume that the coin that was launched 2,5 hours ago couldn't have been generated.
Think logically from time to time.

You're trying hard to disparage us, the Lennycoin developers, and dispirit our fellow miners from the coin. You are not to succeed, though.

Linux compile 2nd try:
 ld returned 1 exit status

???what does it mean?

It is the same error as for the dogecoin wallet
try :
$ sed -i 's/-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53//g' lennycoin-qt.pro
before :
$qmake
$make
That is no-go - as your command would only work on windows.

piwaka - provide more info (more lines to be clear, this one is too general and ambiguous)
I followed the tutorial here:
http://b.agilob.net/such-address-many-dig-on-linux-wow/
and it is working great for me with ubuntu

Great !!! That did the trick. Thnks !

Happyminers is working great, getting about 1/50 block every hour (about 10 Lenny). Great pool!
But it would be better to spread, xtrappool has only found 1 block and the official pool is offline!

Lennycoin is a legit coin. They were prepairing it in a team, it was transparent, there is official channel #lennycoin on Pirc server and project was known on popular website Wykop - polish version of reddit - for long time (the same internet community which brought so much attention for Dogecoin in Poland and so many Doge supporters here ). Thats why they were talking about Doge on main page and based this coin on it.

While they were making it other Pole very fast created just by himself Dubstepcoin which if you remember had failed first launch, because it was copy-paste coin not like Lenny Wink They preapired in more professional way.

IMO even if first pool died it was still a succesfull launch. Who could know it would get so big attention? Wink

It won't be back for mining (at least for now), but you'll be soon able to pay out your coins.
At the beginning, the automated reward division for blocks was disabled to leave more server resources for stratum and mining needs itself.
It was the only available pool at the moment of launch and combined with low difficulty of first blocks that were mined insanely quickly, it caused the server to fall under the heavy data flow.
Now we are in progress of running manually through every block to ensure 100% correctness before we can finally push shares to accounts. As soon as we finish, we'll bring back the website.

Why would we steal your coins before they get any value? If we did, you'd all abandon it - which we don't really want and I guess that you understand it.

in my opinion the only way to stop this flaming by certain people is to pay everyone out asap and stop them in their tracks.. This is good as it stops flamers and makes people trust the coin more.... They can't flame if you sort the problem out... Shame they don't understand it takes a bit of time

WITHDRAW YOUR FUNDS FROM EVERY POOL YOU'VE MINED ON
We are receiving multiple reports of pool accounts being cleared from funds, not only Lenny, but also eToken, RonPaulCoin and other altcoins.
We are unsure which pool has been compromised, but it wasn't the official one.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PAYOUT ADDRESS, BECAUSE THE ATTACKER IS CHANGING IT TO HIS OWN.

Don't forget to change your username/password/PIN combination AND NEVER USE IT AGAIN.

We'll be posting updates as soon as we get any.
Some reports are suggesting happyminers pool as the origin. We can't confirm or deny this information, because we have no connection with this pool and especially, we do not own it.

Victims reported robbery from following pools:
http://lenny.happyminers.net/
https://www.suchcoins.com/
http://etoken.valid-error.com/
http://ron.n0nplusultra.net/

Victims reported robbery from following pools:
http://lenny.happyminers.net/
https://www.suchcoins.com/
http://etoken.valid-error.com/
http://ron.n0nplusultra.net/
http://rpc.muchhash.com/

So seems that I have had unconfirmed all day on lenny.happyminers. I did get a manual payout of 38 coins earlier but it's still uncofirmed. Perhaps this was all one big scam but good luck hacking me cos I use new, random passwords for every single account.

We failed. We will delete sources from GitHub and shut down our nodes and website on Sunday.
If you have LennyCoin pool, please shut it down.

Well then. A shame really because everything worked flawlessly at launch so there was obviously decent effort in the coin's creation. Just goes to show that the altcoin market is too overwhelmed now and even those with quality products will fail.

I started mining at xtrapool.com (8th January) then noticed that the pool wasn't confirming coins even after many times the confirmations required.  I stopped and soon after found that I was getting login errors on other pools where I had used the same username.  xtrapool is no longer around so maybe this is where it started.  Lockouts started happening on other pools like n0nplusultra.net and valid-error.com soon after I had registered with xtrapool - I have since created new accounts so that I don't use the same username - a pity, but it appears that it is a necessity.  I like the way that other pools now require you to login with your email address, but displays the username if you don't set it to anonymous.
