Thahks James6546, 25k NOBL I gave them to a friend, last night I pushed NOBL. I know that this will have a value.

I dont think anyone will buy a lot until everything is clarified

True. I'm still buying it though. IMO it will only go up once the change to PoS is made.

Or not... Look at mintcoin, fedoracoin, etc...

Too low interest, people got bored of them. The price went up initially if it was to only come down again.

But what I was getting at is as there are less coins being minted there should be less sell pressure on the price. Therefore when rofo comes back his positive actions should have more impact on the price than before.

Just to keep in on people's radar, I still plan to launch a social Action campaign at PromoPlugs.com for NOBL and NOXT once the update if complete. =)

Hello Noble people!

The mainnet tests are officially open

I would like to encourage everyone to join and see how PoS wallet works.

Interest rate: 8%
PoS block time: 1,5 minutes

First couple of weeks we are also going to have PoW mining enabled.
PoW reward: 1000 coins per block
PoW block time: 6 minutes

Windows wallet: http://104.236.195.137/noblecoin-qt.zip
Source code: https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/

Test block explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nobles/#  --> kudos to fairglu Wink

If you need a node start noblecoin-qt with:
Code:
noblecoin-qt -addnode=104.236.195.137

To start PoW mining go to console in noblecoin-qt and type:
Code:
setgenerate true 1

Please take a look at documentation https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/wiki. Especially the sections suggesting what can be tested. Also the last section explaining how to access your coins on new blockchain.

If you join tests feel free to PM me with your address and I will send you some play money to test staking.

Also please join our irc channel to discuss the tests. If not just ask questions here.

Thanks!
ps. Distribution of coins on new blockchain will happen in a few hours when premined blocks are mature.

Hmmm... the revamp of https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/ seems underway: *lots* of different gift cards now, with price in nobl!

There is something a bit odd with non-USD amazon gift cards: the $100 gift card is $102, but the 100€ one is 122€

Hi , I'm somewhat confused with the 2 coins NOBL and NOXT

Is the dev currently active with Noblecoin?  What does NobleNXT have to do with Noblecoin?  Is it a platform on top of Noblecoin?  Thanks

The difference is probably due to VAT.

Hello Noble people!

The mainnet tests are officially open

Looks great, I'll be looking into it.

@others, feel free to point out any concern regarding PoS-II; what's in the code is mostly my 'thinking'; I might give more details addition to prior post. We are still able to tune the PoS a little bit (if any) safely after test I'd say of course if you guys want to do that.

Update 2015-02-07: About 24h of tests has passed

- blockchain is at 380th block now
- no major issues so far
- first PoS block was generated at height of 95
- documentation was improved in effect of feedbacks
- I will consider speeding PoW blocks generation up in the future since it took 10 hours to distribute coins on new blockchain. This does not seem right.

if anyone is still undecided - yes, it still makes sense to join tests!. Plan is to keep them running for at least couple of days so we can be reasonably sure everything works as it should.

https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/wiki

I would like to thank you all who helped so far. With code, testing, feedback etc. This is great Wink

PM myself if you want some play money for testing. Or join IRC.

You can send coins with Noble on NOBLPOS?

Not sure if this is what you ask but:
- if you owned e.g. 1 mil NOBLE at the time of switch (in this case just before the test blockchain was started) you can access same amount on PoS wallet. you just need to follow the docs -> last paragraph of https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/wiki. any further purchases or sells are not going to affect your balance on test blockchain
- you can also ask someone to send you some funds on test network. just provide your address

Happy testing! Wink

hm, not sure of this you meant 10 hours is too long? I'd assume this is regarding the premine which can be done before releasing the formal code; though it takes time (only at the beginning I'd say), the block chain will be more secure.

Yes, this is an option. Another one could be to make PoW blocks being mined more often at the very beginning and then slower after some time.

Please do not send money directly using 'send..' command from non-PoS wallet into test PoS wallet. This is not going to work.

The good news is money is not lost in such a case. Created FAQ explaining how to regain access to it. https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/wiki/FAQ
