Spring Staking Promotion

It is spring time, better weather, better prices so many good news.   However as always there is some cons. Percentage of coins being staked on regular basis dropped from above 20% to about 16%. It seems number of people decided to move their money onto exchanges and stopped staking. I would like to encourage the opposite trend.

The idea is to pay additional bonuses to people who stake. This is my current proposal:

Every 10th block being minted earns additional 100 NOBLE
Every 100th block being minted earns additional 1000 NOBLE
Every 1000th block being minted earns additional 10000 NOBLE
Every 10000th block being minted earns additional 100000 NOBLE

The reward is going to be paid with delay of up to several hours due to security precautions. So be patient and it will finally reach its destination

I am going to devote 1 million coins from my own purse for this program. The coins were earned by working on bounties. This should provide enough funds to keep it going for whole April and maybe bit longer.

I am running some tests to see how this works so handful of people have already earned rewards

Tentative date to start this program is 7th April

Please let me know what you think about this idea. Any comments, concerns, or maybe someone is willing to donate more funds to this? With more funds we could keep it running longer or maybe consider paying 1 million NOBLE for block number 400 000 which should be minted in about a month from now.

Speaking about the idea you can contribute some money to keep it running longer, or donate special prize for block 400 000 I remember you wanted to support Noblecoin's faucet. I think supporting staking is more interesting. So maybe you could move the pledged money towards this idea?

Let's wait few more days to see if anyone has opinion on community fund. Block divisible by 100 000 happens about every three-four months. We are likely to run out of funds roughly speaking around block 430 000. If we use 100k to pay reward for block 400 000 then I will be stuck with remaining 600k. So maybe we can use 200k-300k for block's 400 000 reward?

We had this community fund in the past and it was used once or twice. Since then the money is just being held by James.

In my opinion it is better to have well defined tasks with specified reward. Hence the idea of bounties. With "general purpose fund" there is always risk of some people being unhappy how their donation was spent. Bounties are better in a sense that people can support just the tasks they like. Also having well defined goal makes it easy to decide if devs reached it.

Spring Staking Promotion - Update

Promotion started yesterday. Since then we have gathered 3 mln coins already. This includes donation from James and possibly Fishmaster42(??). Thank you guys for supporting this project!

Spring Staking Promotion - Update - day 3

1. Staking ratio and difficulty
Staking Coins for the last 1000 Blocks: 20.2%
Difficulty is also up and at 5.63 right now. We have not seen such diffs in a while. If you check diff chart it also shows that diff went up from consolidation region https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nobl/#@diff

2. Rewards paid so far
10000 NOBLE: 3 times
1000 NOBLE: 24 times
100 NOBLE: 245 times

3. Upcoming high payouts
100 000 NOBLE at block 380 000 which will happen in about 3 days
10 000 NOBLE at block 378 000 which will happen today

4. Reward for block 400 000
Since we gathered 3 mln coins so far and 1 mln allows the script to operate for about a month I would like to increase payout for block 400 000 since blocks divisible by 100 000 happen every 3-4 month. I think reward from region 300k - 1 mln would be appropriate. What are your thoughts? Please vote here and we will decide what the reward should be.
