My situation:
I start here on Monday for a job and don't have a vehicle(long story). Now, most of everyone in this area think their vehicles are worth their weight in gold when they aren't so a cheap vehicle is hard to come by. I did find one in sorta good shape for 120btc.

What I'm Asking:
I'm asking the community as whole to loan me 120btc interest free. What I can do is give the loaner the 0.501 i've accumulated as a down payment. From there because I'm also on public assistance and get paid once a month, I can pay 3btc until I start getting paychecks from which I can then pay 11btc every 2 weeks until the loan is paid off. I'll continue to keep the cpu miner on, but at 800 khash/s I know it's pulling next to nothing btc wise but it's all I have.

What Have I Done to Help my Situation:
I've tried selling my electronics the past week without a single buy.
I've added gift cards and card related games to BitCard but again, no one's touched em.
I've been mining off my laptop but it's onboard graphics, forcing me to cpu mine and i've only been able to accumulate 0.501 btc from this at 800 khash/s off Deepbit.
I tried asking the IBB but they pointed me here because of the size.

Rep:
I did sell a bulbasaur to a guy last month for a bitcoin but I don't have the blockexplorer info since I don't remember which address Mt Gox used since they rotate address' every transaction.

I'm also the partial owner of Eptiv Bitcoin Escrow but I doubt anyone's been using it.

I've also bought shares on GLBSE but I doubt that'll count towards anything.

My ebay account: http://myworld.ebay.com/84fordfan if that counts towards anything.

I have a fear of large groups of people and the busses are usualy packed(like sitting on your lap packed).
It's for this reason I don't go to clubs, bars, conventions, etc...
The job walmart has for me is in the backroom away from the public.

It's something that i've always had.
One shouldn't have to depend on public transportation to get to and from work.
Escpecialy in this situation when I know there are folks out there with alot of bitcoin sitting somewhere.
All they'd have to do is loan me a bit of it. I don't want to watch another explorer slip through my fingers.

It's 120btc and you know what that is in USD right? That's $1,024. That's what I'll end up spending in the end for buying the vehicle, getting it registered, licensed and tuned up. If i'm not mistaken, there's already a thread somewhere about real estate for btc.

EDIT: I supose this would be a different situation if I had a 4850 at my disposal, but I don't so I'm left asking in this section. I usualy don't ask anyone for anything.

At 100Mhash/s it would still take around 6 years to get 120BTC, not accounting for difficulty increase.

At 800Khash/s it would take 726 years so you really need to turn your CPU mining off to save that electricity cost

But it sounds like your loan is for a good cause, good luck Smiley

It's much appreciated guys.. just got back from the chiropractor so it looks like the job at Walmart's off(which means I'm still on public assistance). On the 20th I'll be giving the 1.5btc back to senbonzakura as stated leaving me with 1.5015, however a vehicle will still be needed to go back and forth to the store and to drs appointments and the like. Fun stuff I swears.

DAMN IT!  I just got off the phone with the guy with the explorer and he said he sold it!
True, it was in his own right and he did tell me if he found someone he'd sell it... but on to some other news.
There's at least 2 more explorers listed on craigslist that I'm interested if they accept the price. I'll still need a total of 120btc to cover all my expenses but at least that end looks hopeful.

Let's keep the donations/loans-a-rollin.

Quick question:  Are explorers just abundant where you are?  An older explorer is going to be hell on gas/maintanence.  No hondas/camrys for sale?

Quick question:  Are explorers just abundant where you are?  An older explorer is going to be hell on gas/maintanence.  No hondas/camrys for sale?

I can't drive cars lol. I run them into the ground too fast. It's this reason I've always had either an explorer, aerostar or some sort of ford pickup to stand up to the abuse(ran the last pickup oil dry but it was on accident, was fords I6). There are some explorers in the area but not alot, and because it's the lovely state of New York, people here think their vehicles are worth their weight in gold when they really arent(ie: condition says 200, bbk says 500, seller says 1200).

When I was back in Iowa, I ended up letting my pickup go because it was melting battery posts and couldn't figure out why. So I took the money from that and bought a '79 E250 club wagon. That lasted about 6 months before iowa winter made the crossover pump(dual tanks on a van) break, spewing gasoline all over the driveway and in the street(landlord was not happy). So I ended up patching that and selling it to a guy who was looking for a cutesy van for the elderly. I took the money I got from that... and bought a '94 explorer xlt. Thing had bald tires and a wicked shimmy in the front but I got it for $300 and it took me to IL so I was happy. couldn't find a job in IL so I sold the explorer to go move in with my parents in Phoenix(who are now in TN) only to find out the only thing the explorer needed was new front brakes(causing the shimmy).

I should have realized this. Automotive breaks 101: if you know the front end is good and tight and it wobbles, its either bearings or breaks. Step brother forwarded me $500 to get tires for it too. I kick myself for that now too. So here I am in western new york looking for another '94 explorer. Why 94? Because they changed the body/front end for 1995 and did it again in 2001(in fact the bearings are known to go out rather fast in the 2001+ models, however their pressed on in such as way as you can't get them off and have to replace the whole hub which is a a cool grand). I've been hunting for a 93/94 explorer,4dr,4wd,power everything for less then a grand since I moved here Christmas Eve. So yes lol, I'm a bit partial to explorers.

My first truck was a 91 ranger, so I know that time in Fords production produced some quality vehicles.  It's just that trucks don't depreciate near as fast as cars.

I worked at a Jiffy Lube for around 4yrs and serviced around 50k vehicles. The only thing that holds up better than a early 90's ford truck is an early 90's honda/camry.

Hehe. Those are quite pricey around these parts.. start at 2k and work em on up. Only car that's really dirt cheap around here are neons, pontiacs, and some olds. Delta 88s go for less then a grand, but oh boy do you have to do work to em. Me personally I'd love to have my pickup back, but the wife doesn't like trucks so an SUV will have to suffice.

We're now sitting at 4.002 btc!

Tried that already lol.
I was denied because of my credit and the fact that I'm on state assistance/food stamps.
I've examined and tried every angle of this before asking here in the first place.
I even went as far as to ask the seller of the explorer if he'd take payments and he said no.
It was also suggested to me to get a car, but I can't drive cars(personal reasons).
It was also explained that vehicles up here usualy go for $1000+ so when I see a good deal on a vehicle I try to go for it.
I also know there alot of people in my situation and know where I'm coming from... then again I know there are alot of people on here that have alot of bitcoins and are sitting on them hoping the rate goes up.
I'm not asking for alot.
I've also been looking for work since Dec 2009, and with my back injury(that put me on assistance in the first place) companies look down on me for it. Will they tell me that to my face? No but I know differently.

I think you need to get off the computer. You need to start going to the gym, or go walking every day. Stop believing that you are so shit out of luck, and learn to be a man. You don't need an explorer, or even a car for that matter. You need a reality check. You don't have enough money for insurance, or the gas you'll need to operate the vehicle. Your public assistance is barely enough to feed and clothe you, and as you say, no employer wants to hire you.

It's not because of your back injury though, Logan.

They don't want to hire you because to them you seem like a pathetic victim who thinks the world owes him a living, a parasitical monster who cannot take responsibility for himself.

Best of luck, Logan.

Woa talk about coming out of nowhere with complete and utter bullshit.
I do need an explorer to go back and forth to Walmart and stores for food and the like.
Early 90s Explorers were the safest ones statistically as they were built off the 80s Ranger frame.
How do I know that? I owned one. Not only that, Ford vehicles have been my life so I know them in and out.
Insurance and gas won't be a problem. Paren'ts said they'dd take care of it.
Tomorrow I find out from the chiropractor wither or not I have a strong SSI case or not.

Here's what I don't need. I don't need folks who think they know what I need.
Only I know what I need. If you're a potential lender, great.. I have ways to show I'm responsible and not like the scammers that are on these boards(like returning the 1.2btc the IBB lent me).
But for you to purposly come onto my post and tell me what I do and don't need would be like me coming to your house and telling you what you do and don't need. You'd hate me for it.
I will find someway to get my target amount. Hell, if someone lent me their hashes for a week like TheGrapest did, that'd help. Why? Because people care. If no one wants to donate coins or loan me coins directly, then buy something from bitcard... either way it gets to me and my goal of getting a '94 ford explorer. Why? because i'm italian and determined.

Just got off the phone with the owner of the second explorer and he said he has it and is willing to drop the price to $800 usd for me, however it'll still cost and additional $200 to get it licensed, tagged, insured and inspected(don'tcha just love NY?).
