I would rather wait till we are 2nd or 3rd and send donations just before the coin is choosen among others. That is better and more efficient strategy. Otherwise other coins will donate as well and we will end up in donation war.

You need to put the "grumpycoin.conf" file on the correct folder. Go to the first post of this thread, copy the content, paste on a software like notepad and save the file on the correct folder for your Operational System:

Linux    
$HOME/.grumpycoin/    or /home/<username>/.grumpycoin/grumpycoin.conf

Mac    
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Grumpycoin/grumpycoin.conf

Windows

XP -- C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Grumpycoin\grumpycoin.conf
Vista, 7 -- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Grumpycoin\grumpycoin.conf

Why is this extra step needed?  Will the clients be updated? Also, why is the grumpcoin.conf file in the client download different from the .conf info on the website?

It appears they are classed as dodgy on scamadvisor. However, I'm not sure how well that scans websites in foreign languages. It shows its results of the scan as being because the websites are relatively new, and are operating from a high risk country.

Anyway, I too have emailed BTER, but haven't received a response.
