These will be unsalable, unusable, completely tainted marked coins.

They will not be allowed to enter the Bitcoin community.

They will be completely rejected by the networks.

The FBI can't even MASK the coins acting like 100s of people etc.

It is all traced back to them.

Gotcha scammers.

Gold isn't the answer.

is there any way to "track coins"?  I didn't think so.  I guess you could track addresses, can you get information on where btc addresses are located?  I thought BTC was supposed to be anonymous!!!

In my opinion, as soon as the FBI decides to sell the coins they would become legitimised and therefore untainted.

They'll probably be auctioned off to the highest bidder, bit like when governments dispose of equipment through auctioneers. Might even end up causing a price spike and become collectors Bitcoins ("Genuine DPR Bitcoins, limited collection!" Tongue )

I'm kind of surprised peopel are worried about this to be honest.  if they sell them, thats great, just means more coin for the rest of us at cheaper prices and now that we know they can't bombard the market with sells, the value of a btc will go even higher, yeah?

Seriously everyone?

Don't ever kid yourself...the FBI has a wallet all their own...probably multiple wallets.

Using Bitcoin is just one more tool they can use to carry out top secret missions.

People might laugh at this but criminals are not the only ones that require money laundering services.

Still amazes me that DPR didn't secure the wallet better. He could have a fortune waiting for him when/if he gets out of prison. Now he has nothing, unless the FBI didn't find all of it. And rumor has it he's going to cooperate with the FBI for a reduced sentence? So how's he going to protect himself once all is said and done?

Lol, most of this forum is pointless and doesnt make sense.

The FBI will hold those coins until the case is closed, which will take years because i bet alot of legal precedent will be set with a case like this and always takes longer.

Once they no longer need to keep them by law, they will hire someone to figure out what to do with them, and then spend ages in red tape until they are finally sold in a few years time.

I think it is a well known fact that FBI seized less than half. So they got the operational stash, active SR funds, not the cold wallets.
