Security/convenience tradeoff. Also, Slow is relative. On cable, they're still faster than dial-up used to be.

I might have my friend set one up for the right price. But hope you enjoy downloading 720 &1080p files at dialup speeds.

Not a bad idea TheKid Smiley

I just read this article today which provides some food for thought on whether such a service using tor and bitcoin would be successful Smiley.

Im tired of wanting to watch stuff on hulu and hbo only to be blocked because some retard thinks geographical boundaries are  important.

Paying $100 or more for a tv series box set when I can download the same thing from bittorrent for free is not a good thing either.  So you know what I do ? I dont buy and I dont download . I hope they shrivel up and die on the vine.

When will they learn that if they make stuff affordable people WILL buy it...look at the app store for an example of it.

We bandwidth constraints here so downloading a tv series or several movies (netflix) is not practical.

Sneakernet ftw Smiley

Give us a site to browse all the files and mark the ones we want or request ones and it would be great.

I'll see what I can get setup. Any recommendations on the software front?

And I'd be shipping from the USA, so shipping would be prohibitively expensive, but I'd be willing to buy any drive off newegg to fill.

Dont sell per file imo.

What you do is setup a private file sharing group and let people pay by the month for all the files they can download. You can only download so much in a month  Smiley.

Something like buddypress with s2member plugin hacked to support bitcoin http://www.s2member.com/ or elgg  http://www.elgg.org/index.php with the ability for paid private groups.

Charging per file would be silly. But for someone who has limited bandwdth t's a good plan.

And I'll see what I can do Wink
