I don't think it's a medical enemy it can be a curse for the poor because they can't afford adequate medical care medical can save you from various diseases without medical care mankind would be helpless we can prevent many diseases we can treat many more diseases. But there comes a moment in life when the disease is neither preventable nor treatable such a moment comes in the life of many people our bodies are made in such a way that no matter how hard we try there is a limit to their survival when the body exceeds that limit we call it death.
Poor people are often weak thinkers. If they weren't, they wouldn't be poor. This means that they have lost all the nutritional lore that their ancestors had 200 years ago. The medical has trained it out of them over the years, by focusing on medicine in the schools.
If the poor had nutritional understanding - and probably even if they don't - they are far better off without medicine, but with only good hygiene. Lack of knowledge about nutrition vs. the medical is is the curse of the poor.
HOWEVER, since all people die (as you said), why do we want to stay in this life? If we are at the point where life is a drudgery for us, why not allow death willingly?
