Every contest begins after the previous one has already been conducted.
Here are the rules:
- The participation fee is 0.01 BTC.
- To participate just send this amount to our official wallet.
- Every transference of 0.01 BTC to our wallet counts as a single new participation, so you can participate as many times as you want, including in the same contest and with the same wallet.
- To draw a winner we will enter the transaction wallets in the website Random.org in the order the transactions were performed, and after we click on Randomize button the winner will be the one who shows up on top of the list. Both lists will be posted here.
- The draws will only be made when the number of participants of each contest is complete.
- If after 7 days the number of participants of a contest is not complete, the amount received so far will be given back to the participants in the same wallets they used.
- After the 15th contest the book will be released in Public Domain (CC-0) in its original .ODF format here in this website.

FREE CONTESTSAs a special bonus we are also doing 10 free contests to divulge our work, where every one of them will reward the winner with 0.01 BTC.
To participate in the free contests all you have to do is to reply to our official forum thread by mentioning your interest in participating and you will be already participating. You need to have an account at Bitcoin.org in order to participate, which is also free.
You don’t need a bitcoin wallet to participate, but the winner needs one to receive the prize.

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?Because you will be contributing with our work and the whole community. One of the biggest problems of software libre is documentation. There are many excellent software products available, but most of them lack even basic documentation, and users often have to rely on internet forums, wikis, manual pages and amateur articles to find the information they need. Those sources are often poorly written, disorganized, superficial and time-consuming to find.
This book took months to become ready because we tried to make it as easy and comprehensible as possible, and also because English is not our native language. It is being distributed for free so anyone can obtain it and redistribute it without any cost. Our purpose is to later relicense this book in public domain, which will allow anyone to modify it and do whatever they want with it, bringing more benefits for you and for the whole community. This way you will be able to:
- Adapt it by modifying or introducing new information
- Re-brand it as yours and obtain all the credit for it
- Distribute and help your community
- License it in any way you wish, under your conditions
- Commercialize it and get all the profit for it
