Tried searching the forums the best I can.

I've recently acquired 2 Dell PowerEdge 2850 Dual Xeon Processor Servers. They have two PCI-e slots, one is 1x the other 8x. I see most of the GPU's being used for mining are x16. I'm sure the cards would work, but how much of a performance hit am I taking? Any help or linkage to relevant information is greatly appreciated. Thanks gents!

No performance hit for mining through an x1 slot.

You're going to need extender cables. You can get them from cablesaurus.com.

The good mining cards are all dual slot, I'd be worried about fitting those in a 2u server.
