I used the Copay wallet and sent some BTC 3 hours ago but no confirmations, and I paid a $0.45 miner fee. Is it true that with the Electrum desktop wallet you can set your own transaction fee? Please can someone help, the Copay wallet is a nightmare!

Yup, you can configure your own transaction fees on Electrum, though there are presets for low, medium, and high fees IIRC, as well as fees by satoshi/byte. Sucks that you can't set your own fees on Copay; I used to use it for buying Amazon giftcards, but not for much more past that. I most likely will also discontinue using Copay, as I like to have control over fees and I've just never had good experiences with wallets that don't allow you to configure custom fees.

Had never heard of these Copay wallet before and it's quite awkward that you can't adjust the transaction fees. This feature is common in exchange wallet and should never be on a wallet app more or so an open source wallet. Really sucks and i don't think i can ever use such a wallet.

I think your transaction fees are not enough to make quick and fast to tranfer your funds, yes using copay you can adjust the transaction fee for your choices. So wait the comfirmation for 24 hours Before complaining.

The mempool is currently the fullest it has been in about a month, with transactions needing fees of 40+ sats/byte to confirm in the next block. Your fee of $0.45 is around 8000 satoshi - this could be anywhere from 40 to 10 or even less sats/byte depending on the size of your transaction. You may have to wait 24 hours or more for it to confirm.

There is literally no reason to use a wallet that won't let you set your own fees. It is such a basic requirements. In future, use the sites below to give you a good idea of fees required for quick confirmation and adjust your wallet settings accordingly.

All part of Bitpay's ongoing attempts to undermine Bitcoin. They may as well push a wallet that makes using it unhelpful.

The current fee situation will be down to miners farting around with Bcash. I expect everything to be back to relative normal within a few days. Lord help anyone thinking of moving some BCH.

People are way too impatient and directly complains when theres a delay. if we do try to look at on the current pending transactions and with the fee
that he had set. Then, its normal for it not to be broadcasted into the network. 3 hours still a considerable waiting time. I don't have much idea on Copay wallet
but on all the possible wallet I would used up I would stick to Electrum.

I believe you will come across someone who has made use of such wallet and another thing is may be your transaction fee is not enough to process the transaction.

I think unconfirmed transactions are very rare and these days there are many wallets where you can define and control the fee in order your transactions get confirmed. In.general unconfirmed transactions are not so much a nightmare as they used to be.
Personally I don't have experience with Copay but my suggestion would be to stick to some trusted wallets like Electrum or Mycelium.
But again it's not so much time passed and I'm sure your transaction will be confirmed eventualy.

3 hours waiting time is too long basing on the current pending tx as of this moment.Posting tx hash will be good so that we will able to see but I believe it did
already got some confirmations and since op isn't responding yet or completely forgot the thread he created and posting up some updates about the tx.

At this point you will be lucky to have it confirmed in the next 24 hours. I have 4 btc transaction lastweek and it took me more almost 48 hours to get confirmed and received.

And as far as I know, Copay transactions are multi signature, adding to higher tx fee. All you can do is wait for it to get confirmed.
