To find out if you are on the right chain is quite easy.

Buy a few KDC from Cryptsy and transfer them to your wallet. If you get them, you're on the right chain.

Or vice-versa, send cryptsy some KDC and see if they get it.

Also your "getinfo" on the wallet, should show this:

    "version" : 80602,
    "protocolversion" : 70003,
    "walletversion" : 60000,


Protocol version is the most important.

As far as restarting KDC, a lot of people would come back to this coin, it left a soft spot in their heart when it didn't "pan out" [pun intended].

The thing I for-see though, is that how can new devs get control of the github? Or are you thinking of a community take over with hard fork?  If it is the latter, you'd have to find out what obstacles are in your way as far as getting Cryptsy or other exchanges to support it.

Have you tried contacting any of the previous devs or community leaders? I bet some of them have private email addresses to the original dev team and could help get you access to the official github.

I have no interest in getting in control of the old github, or the accounts here for this thread.  When everything is said and done, we'll move the convo over to a fresh thread, and the github will be housed on my Github account, or a Criptoe Team account.

As far as the exchanges are concerned, it only takes a reference to this thread to validate the takeover.  Myself or my team will ping Cryptsy and others to notify them of the change.  Pretty standard fare for coin takeovers.

There were a few community members that I had spoke with in the past regarding the change, but they have not resurfaced since bringing everything up again.  We're just going to push forward with what we're doing and leave the old devs behind.  In my mind, they probably walked away with coin and don't want to have anything to do with KDC anyway.  More power to us, the people who want to make it work.

I think a lot of people are interested, just waiting to see what the developer is going to do. Many people gave up because the web site has been down for so long, and the forum has been virtually dead. I think KDC has potential, and you need some legitimate Gold connection.
I believe the next few months are going to be critical for a lot of coins. Time for consolidation.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on what's going on.

Recently NLG switched to DIGI, and the code used is the same code I have written in the new KDC code that I was looking to release.  I wanted to see what was going to happen with the multipools that were hitting NLG, and I wanted to see how DIGI did.  So after about a week of observing, it's a mixed bag.  MPs are still pulling blocks, and the block times are all over the place.

So I've decided to rework the DIGI algo with my team.  We're going back to the drawing board and seeing what can be done to mitigate multipools while still keeping a traditional scrypt structure.  I've got a few ideas I want to discuss with them, and a few that they have brought up in the last week that we want to test.

So that's the scoop.  I just wanted to let everyone know.

A member of my team has created a mining simulator.  It essentially lets us test difficulty algorithms inside of an excel spreadsheet, adding jump pool hashrate based on difficulty entry and exit points.  The idea is based off the GOlang based simulator created by /Geert-Johan, the NLG dev.  While his sim was effectively the first in crypto, the Criptoe team needed something more familiar to our coding style and easier to use.  Here's a preview of what we're working with:



So the simulator is allowing us to write and test a custom algorithm, similar to DIGI, but with short term and long term retarget to smooth out block times and difficulty jumps.  Seeing the results that NLG had with Clevermining and it's DIGI implementation, which I pushed for over the last 5 months, I wanted to make sure we don't have the same mediocre results here.  Now don't get me wrong, DIGI is making it difficulty for CM to rape NLG like it did before, but it's also paying a toll on the block times and average blocks per day.  We are also looking at modifying the traditional algo and seeing what we can do with that.

While we're not expert developers, we've been around long enough to learn from our past experiences.  If we push an update to KDC, we want it to be solid.

So that's where we're at currently.  We could push an update tomorrow, but it wouldn't be great.  We want KDC to be great.

Wasn't trolling, I was just responding to your post seeking greater information. You did, afterall, post it from the standpoint of familiarity, which is why I asked. Yes, anyone can look into it and see if they find interest--but there are many of these hopeful groups around, and some of them have an end-game of suckering people out of their coin or money which is why I try to draw their validity to light.
