Sure, why not All information about past and recent giveaway already listed on Games and rounds section There are few giveaway which currently still runing until now, just take a look and you will find what are you looking for.

It is still belong to contest. I think you can make an accouncement in your ANN thread if you are planning to do that. But you must create a thread which only foccused discussing about your event/contest on game and rounds section, for announce the winners, etc

I totally agree with you. Games and Rounds are really very deceptive given the fact that almost 99% of the threads in that section are giveaways. I am agreed with the user who has suggested you to include Giveaways in the title.

Most of the giveaways are posted in the Games&Rounds section, if not it's soon handled by moderation (I suppose).
I don't see how it is abused?

People want to give out free stuff and people want to get free stuff
They both achieve this
