I just have to share this with anyone that wants to listen ...... I have been hacked for 4.5 million digibyte Cry Cry

I have absolutely no idea what has happened, but yesterday I did a sync of my digibyte core wallet installed on my computer, and when the sync was over, my wallet was empty.

I checked my wallet address DMHUZWvzfJwdiiivnbfkMW34LBmAt5r9Zv in the blockchain explorer and to my horror I realized that the transactions in fact had taken place.

What has happened? I have never given my private keys to anyone, my pc shows no sign og beeing hacked, its fully updated, have the newest antivirus. My wallet is also protected by a strong password. My pc wasn't online at the time of the transactions. Im a sysadmin and i know a thing or 2 about pc security,

How can this happen? can anyone help me to clarify what has happened before i jump screeaming out of the nearest window Cry

that is scary  Roll Eyes

They hacked your PC or were your coins on an Exchange? Does the digibyte wallet have a Debug Window>Console where you can do a "checkwallet" to see if the wallet needs to be or can be repaired?

You can see on the blockchain there were three separate transaction that moved the coins to other addresses. Either the OP has amnesia or someone close to him "borrowed" his DGB or he was indeed hacked.

I think it is impossible for those transactions to occur without access to the wallet. That's a lot of coins to lose. Maybe a dedicated secure PC must be used for very large coins such as that. A PC that is only used to sync the wallets or transfer coins to an exchange and nothing else.

Maybe the pc was hacked and the wallet copied and the password was brute forced, maby that is a possibility?? good advice with the dedicated secure pc. I have bourght myself a hardware wallet now.
Was your wallet completely emptied, then maybe so, if it was only one address involved unlikely.

edit: I'm going to assume Lawzt has me on 'ignore'.

Could you have downloaded a compromised wallet.exe with built in backdoors? What source did your wallet come from?

I have downloaded the wallet from the official digibyte website.

lol nobody has a reason to keep digibyte  Cheesy

Despite the fact that DGB team doesn't make any false promise and that it's a real coin and not a token.

Also the fact that the transaction are really fast and can be used in real life for that reason.

There are many coins out there worth few dollars that have not a real value whereas DGB is only worth 0.06/0.07$ for now... It can easily do a x20 in next months.

yep i get the speed of dgb is very fast
you predict XDN price will increase 20 times? What base on?

Digibyte is growing ... more and more people realize how good that coin is.
I believe that it will surpass 1$ maybe this year already.

Let's see ...2018 is the year of DGB!

PS: This guy think it will rise even further Wink

I'll always look into this forum with some sadness. Why? Because I was here during the first week of Digibytes life... I have mined a lot of it, only to hold for years my DGB. And what happened in November 2016? I had to sell my 2.3 M of DGB to pay my last bill, because this was a pretty bad year for me.

3 month later... yes, only 3-4 months later, BTC has risen by 300% and DGB by... 2000% at the same time... My total available DGB were between 90K and 120K USD, depending on the day. And I was fucking bored of this situation : holding for 3 full years, and selling DGB only because I had huge money difficulties at this time. This was 3 years for nothing.

Now, I'm back with a lil' investment of 500$, bought at 460 satoshis. I just hope that luck will be with me this time. And I'm sure that 2018 is the DGB years : Jared & co has proven they were reliable, innovative and dedicated. They have contributed too much during the past 4 years to don't be awarded more than DGB's actual value! Yes, DGB is fucking undervalued... But when people will realise that, it will be too late.

Even if for a month or so, DGB has gained some value, I fucking wonder why other "less good" coins have been pumped like crazy. But even if I'm sad about it... i'm kinda sure that a BIIIIG BOOOOM is near to happen. DGB in the top 5 of coinmarket cap? For sure... if it never happen, i'll remember that the humanity can have shit in their eyes (and mind).

Have a nice day, dear members of the DGB community.

I feel you bro! I had similar experience with another coin from the top 10 now which has risen so much in such a short time, but only after I sold almost all of my hodlings of it.
This is it, but we must not despair and it is just a matter of time to find the next one and hodl like a boss this time. I am also into DGB from the beginning of this year on.

Can anyone help with a mining question. I've got to get a new mac laptop and am thinking about mining digibyte. I just wondered if it was straightforward to set up and if its worthwhile going with a mac.

I've been a holder for a while and can see this coin has real potential. I don't expect it to be massively profitable at the moment but want to get involved in the project really.

You are not alone. My last trade in Poloniex, around mid 2016 was Digibyte. I bought 1M coins for 0.5 BTC. I got busy in work and forgot about it. Then in December 2016 when atlcoins started rising, I decided to check my account and saw Digibyte didn't move but instead went down. I sold it and started trading other coins in 2017 with little success. By May 2017, Digibyte rose to 2500 sats! If only I didn't bother trading again and maybe if I had just forgotten my account and remembered it only by May, I could have 21 BTCs by then.

Maybe it's just not meant to be for us. The good news is that we can start again with Digibyte or any other new altcoins out there. Smiley

I started mining DGB in July and purchased my first three batches in September, October and November. I tried my hand at day trading and lost a non-trivial amount and learned that I just don't have the time to trade effectively. So I hold, and I profit by holding.

Lesson for all the new folks here. If you are not experienced at trading, or don't have the time to commit to it, you will NOT beat the market. Period. Do your future self a huge favor and zoom out the 1 day chart to at least one year and just hold.

Be prepared to hold for NO LESS THAN 12 months, and you'll be rewarded. Otherwise, enjoy being canon fodder for the market.

me to some same story

had mined 15 million over 2 years   i had to sell at 48sat in 2017 just before the big rise, i told my self dgb is on a long downtrend i should have time to buy it back around 25sat in a month
but no longer than 2 weeks later the big pump started and i could not buy because did not get my bitcoin  Embarrassed

but now i m back with 2 millions average buy 460sat (but from long time ago when the sat where lot cheaper)
and same i tried couple of time to sell and buy back cheaper because there are a lot of day trade opportunities  but now i stay away from that 1 time it goes good for you but the other time you miss and lost a lot because you have to buy back more expensive or lose the train

did the same mistake on my ripple i lost the train with trying to rebuy cheaper, so i put my bitcoins from ripple on dgb

Is it possible for the transaction ID not to appear on DGB blockexplorer? I've been waiting for my transfer for 2 hours already and still, I haven't received my DGB.

Please help...

If the transaction ID is not in the Digibyte block explorer then the tx has not been sent yet. They show almost immediately and DGB txs confirm within a few minutes at most.

That's what I am getting worried about. DGB is the fastest and yet the transaction ID cannot be found. Sad
Transaction ID : 5f7b5baa4812b30735c9576dcf6ffff06969c8ebb4a5bae0f886c05e1cf5ac9a

Who is sending you the coins? I have been using, holding, etc. DGB for over three years. This transaction was not sent. Complain to whoever owes you the coins. This is not a network fault. It is a sender fault.

I have been using DGB for a long time too and this is the first time that has ever happened. Is there any workaround for this? I know there isn't but I still need to keep my hopes up.
did you get your dgb because the same thing is hapening with me im waiting for my dgb transection even explorer is not showing anything

I completely agree. I tried a bit of trading. But what is the point in a market like this, it wrecks your nerves and plays with your mood. Why go through that when you can sit back and reap great rewards. Its not always about what you have gained, its about what you haven't lost.

Just broke the 1B market cap and on are way to break 2B market cap in early 2018 Grin
