The point? If the above is a TLDR... then the point is this. The easier it is the get them and spend them.... the more "normal" people will get involved.
Here's a thought: How about selling wallet software pre-configured with DigiBytes? Just run the install routine and you end up with a functioning DigiByte wallet with coins ready to go? You could sell them in the same places AOL used to give away their CDs, everywhere! I know everyone will worry about the value of the coins as they sit and wait for a buyer but, so what? So they go up in value, great for the new buyer. So they go down in value, so what? They are still spendable digital currency... You could almost give them away and take an up front loss for the long term gain. I don't think it would be too technically difficult unless you wanted to redesign the wallet, which just might be the icing on the cake. Make it easier, sort of a "starter" wallet. Make the packaging irresistable, flashy and bright. Also, include places to spend your new Digibyte either directly in the wallet or, provide a seperate list. If you put it in the wallet, ET could phone home on a regular basis and update the vendor list. How about that huh? Could be the answer to the "that's too hard for me" problem.... Someones going to do it sooner or later, might as well be DigiByte... RJF

That's a darn good idea, especially if it worked like the Android wallet and just sync'd the first time through rather than downloading the whole blockchain.

As we've seen with Doge too, big sponsorships get their name out there but bring in little to no price movement. Doge took a big nosedive right when they sponsored the Nascar driver. I think it comes back to that regular people (ie the ones who see the sponsored person/team but not involved in crypto) see getting involved with the coin as beyond them. Making it easier for them to buy their first Digibyte would be a great first move. Perhaps a physical paper wallet-selling site, which they can use to load an Android wallet with might be a sound first move there. (how is the iOS wallet coming btw, any progress on that front?) Combining sponsorship with handing out free wallets (or super cheap price like $1-$2 or so) at an event where Digibyte was the sponsor, together with instructions on how to upload that to an Android or iPhone, I personally think that would be a winner.

Well Nautilus is certainly leaving DGB in the dust. Now with moolah, switching to PoS, and sponsoring an MMA fighter. Brian Kelly is certainly pushing forward.

Here's a thought: How about selling wallet software pre-configured with DigiBytes.... RJF Also, IMHO the block chain loading time for many coins is a turn off to new adopters. Who wants to sit and wait for the block chain to download when you're not even certain why you installed the wallet in the first place? Something to consider. One way out is described here and would seem to have solved the problem for now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=252937.0Worth a read...
