Delta fan filters

Just a query about filters for my 120mm delta fans. I have four of them installed in the side of a HAFX case. The filter really affects the pressure though or airflow - not sure how to determine which.

It's primarily dust I'm thinking of keeping out, I don't know if the fan needs to do anything else?

Definitely use dust filters! I use the mesh ones which aren't as restrictive as the one you're looking at, but they don't filter the air as well. The ones I use are like these

My ones probably keep at least 90% of the dust out of my case because my room has a severe dust problem.

And here is where I irritate you both. For 1$ at the dollar store, I can buy tons of fan filters, oddly labeled "Coffee Filters". They work well, probably closer to forumuse84's filters.

for the redneck look, and a very low restriction, coarse filter, go the the hardware store to the sheetrock section. look for the self adhesive mesh joint tape. its an open mesh, sticky, cuts easy and can be layered to get smaller mesh openings.

works surprisingly well. not fine dust of course, this is more along the lines of SMOKEUs filter but even less restrictive. anything that gets through doesnt seem to bother or build up my gpu/cpu hsf assemblies anyway, and Ive been using it for months.

I use filters as well.  My cases (Re: Pictures of your mining rigs!) included magnetic mounted filters for the bottom fans and snap out filters for front mounted fans.  I added an additional fan on each case in a spot which did not have an existing fan filter so I purchased these for about $3 each on amazon.com.

Rubber band them over your fan. If your setup prevent rubber bands, try zip ties, tape, etc. Basically, if you're going to use the coffee filter filters, you mount them in any way possible, as professional looks are thrown out the window. Seriously though, they work. And they can be cut to fit any fan.

That would probably work better, but the coffee filter thing goes back a trick I used for low use systems. I though it was worth my bitcent to add it. While more expensive, the mesh filters are by far the best choice.

I use an old pair of tights, yes.. laugh away.. and they were my mothers too
