The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Why are you all freaking out? I have had zero problems solo mining once I got everything configured properly.
I suggest that you all learn how to properly set up your system to solo mine so you don't have to rely on pools during a coin launch.
There shouldn't even BE any pools for at least a few hours into a coin launch. They cause inevitable forks and ACTUALLY kill coins.
PROTIP: THE OP SOLO MINING INSTRUCTIONS WERE INCORRECT
Give us your ping to the nodes plz because I too have configured my miner properly but every block I mined turned up orphaned. Pinging 23.253.71.56 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 23.253.71.56: bytes=32 time=167ms TTL=47 Reply from 23.253.71.56: bytes=32 time=181ms TTL=47 Reply from 23.253.71.56: bytes=32 time=166ms TTL=47 Reply from 23.253.71.56: bytes=32 time=167ms TTL=47
Pinging 192.237.223.87 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.237.223.87: bytes=32 time=164ms TTL=47 Reply from 192.237.223.87: bytes=32 time=173ms TTL=47 Reply from 192.237.223.87: bytes=32 time=165ms TTL=47 Reply from 192.237.223.87: bytes=32 time=164ms TTL=47Hopeless ping when solomining at launch?

I don't see this as an unfair launch as everyone was having orphan and reject troubles(which are normal at these diffs) so it was only blind luck ... someone with 100kh/s could have gotten more than someone with 10000kh/s if they had less orphs ... so it was quite a fair launch ...

yes it seems the pool frontends were being ddos'd. frontend is up and down ..look out for the stratum attack later on. big hashers ddos sites to buy some time while they finish hashing their current coin before they switch. im earning coins on coinarmy atm but the diff is increasing fast.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State BlockNet can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State BlockNet to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State BlockNet.” - Joseph Goebbels

Successfully mined 2 blocks with 130 kh/s congrats... I tried with 70 kh/s but did not get so lucky. Do you use cgminer? If so, what was your queue? scan? and expiry set at? hardly something to do with that on those low difficulties. basically you have almost zero chance to get something solo with a DSL/cable home line as long as a crypto is announced with fanfare/in advance. every share that would be accepted will end up orphaned. we're no match for sharks & mafias if they had time to configure their bots.

Really, I had 3.2 m/h and not even a third of that, Pooligan on his pool posted "It Exploded" I assume he means my account exploded my coins into his. I just started mining on coinarmy since they woke up 40 minutes and have finally gotten 7000 coins, more than 45 minutes on pooligans, never will I mine at his pool again ever.
