Hi

I had 0.00162636 BTC in my wallet. I sent 0.0015BTC with a transaction fee of 0.00010000BTC. When I checked the transaction it say I payed 0.00012636 in fees. It happens with all my transactions, but I thought I had done some bad math and didn't think more of it. So I checked the details on this one.

Is supposed to be this way? It's not much BTC we are talking about, but I find it strange electrum is allowed to increase the transaction fee without my consent. What's worse is that it is done after I type my password, so I am worried I have a virus or something(Scans show no virus, but it's free antivirus)

As I said it is not much BTC, but increasing the fee without me knowing is just weird. Does anyone know what's going on? I tried searching, but my english is not the best to formulate a good search

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.
