Probably because there was a recent attack on the chain, causing lot's of spam on the harddrive. SolidCoin folders were getting  up to 4.5GB in size. This is exploit is fixed in the newest version.

thats pretty common with all the clients.
They connect to an irc server which is something a lot of trojans do.
they make a lot of connections, which is something a trojan would do

When a virus scanner says "probably blah blah" you can tell it's using heuristics (ie it's guessing). Most p2p clients get detected as such.

I realize that it probably is a false positive, yes. But it would qualify as a poor hack (as of poorly patched code) to even get to this point.
None of the other clients have this issue.
