Now that's very interesting, that's a social network I could get behind, for those who don't know there's also plans by Kim Dotcom to do a peer to peer chat extension of some sort that operates on the same principles, I think the video of it was posted up on this section.

Yes.

It's currently for very early adopters. I guess just using the Android precompiled client would be seen as low hurdle but it's just a quick port using the native linux and isn't optimized for mobile use, yet. The Linux/OSX versions require you to compile the binary yourself and be prepared for frequent pulls and recompiles.

If it takes off, that will likely change when people create more user friendly packages.
