12V bench PSU for pci express power plugs?

I've just found that the 6 & 8 pin pci express power connectors used in GPUs are only 12V (no 5 or 3).

So my question is this.... why bother messing with switching computer PSUs when you could use a good quality bench 12V PSU.... A 200 amp bench PSU is comparatively cheap compared to the equiv in PC PSUs, a damn site better quality too!!

IE it would take a damn expensive computer PSU to match this one below

For the supplied current the bench PSU's cost more.  Which is why I convert computer PSU's to bench PSU's.  Most good single rail computer PSU's have 50+ amps on the 12v rail.

That thirty amp supply has enough juice for 2x5830 no more. PC power supplies generally cost less but there is the odd bench supply that comes close. They would be ok if you needed power for one or two more cards in an open rig but too costly for primary.
