I am rebooting a novel that I was suppose to write last November: http://wiki.kibabase.com/The_Courier_War

It's about agorist courier robots fighting against statist polices for its right to make a living. Right now, I have the first draft of the first chapter out, but it could use some reworking.

If you like the idea or the story, tip me a few bitcoin http://www.youtipit.org/en/tip.aspx?junketId=J2608

The more you guys tipped, the more I am encouraged to work on my novel.

Great Artists that produce great artistic works are driven to their craft from an deep psychological need to perform their art. That psychological need is never satisfied, and after one complete work it must go onto another and another. At no time in this process is there a monetary need.

So I will help your great artistic need for authoring an excellent work of writing, by not giving you money. You will be the next great Edgar Allan Poe.  Just drink a lot of absinth.

A page of bad writing. What is there to comment? Glancing the page, I see numerous grammar mistakes.

Read 'Elements of Style' and practice your copy-editing skills on Wikipedia. Then come back with at least a chapter of good writing. Writing isn't easy but you haven't written much.

Bear in mind that people here don't read fiction.

Yeah, the grammar is pretty bad. It's a pretty consistent bug in my writing.

I'm sure plenty of individuals here have had a taste of Rand. Hahaha.

Eh, as for feedback. Kiba, I can say you have a solid idea but poor execution. I recommend you read more literature and closely analyze how the author engages you, how he gives you the little details but not so blatantly. The author should permit the use of the reader's imagination, otherwise you're reading something a bit robotic. The extent of the imagination you allow, that's to your choosing. Simply put, don't be so direct in explaining your setting and events. Let the reader figure that out while you provide nuanced keys to the story.

Again, gain this by studying other work.

My .02 BTC.

Try Scrivener, you can storyboard the story, which tends to lead to a constant flow of thought to the reader. It will also allow character development and follow them throughout the story. Easy to publish from when completed.

It is just great for Dissertations, Thesis, or writing in general.

Or just create a great looking cover, post to Amazon and rake in $5000, I believe that is the average for E-books with great covers, good descriptions but crapy content. It will only work once, though, then you will have diminishing returns.

This has put a horrible taste in my mouth. It is as if someone took a dump on the art of writing.

Looking at the original post, I noticed that I didn't post a link to my tipping page. Now it is possible. If you like the idea, please tip me some bitcoin.

Na, there will still be the greats. Some for entertainment, some for their internal driven desires (the best BTW) like Kafka, Poe, Hesse, etc...  Then the mundane, economical writers like Clancy, King (although there is something going on there), etc...
