We're happy to announce Tradewave today. We want to make it really easy for anyone to script their own automated trading bots with Python.

All the hard parts like fetching data feeds, order execution and backtesting are handled by us.

  • Your bot runs on our servers. No need to worry about downtime or latency
  • Fast backtesting (you just press a button in the code editor)
  • Trade BTC, LTC, USD and EUR (+ more alt-coins to come)
  • Multiple exchanges (BTC-E, Bitstamp, Kraken, Bitfinex + more to come)
  • Huge set of indicators in our library (TA-Lib)
  • Run multiple bots simultaneously (with time offsets if you need it)
  • Scripted with Python in your browser. One of the easiest languages to learn.
  • We list featured pre-made strategies to get you started
  • Discussion forums for collaboration

  We’re currently in public beta:

  http://tradewave.net

Update (2014-03-16): we're now open to public signups.
Update (2014-04-01): added Bitfinex and Kraken + custom chart plotting + more indicators + discussion forum

Probably BTC/USD and LTC/USD to begin with. But it's quite simple for us to add more currency pairs.

Thanks - I'll keep those in mind but we'll be prioritising more conventional cryptocurrencies first. Perhaps 'conventional' isn't the right word...

Hey - we're thinking about adding a simple visual editor for your trading algorithms at some point in the future. For now we've put together a short guide to getting started with coding in Python, here:

https://tradewave.net/help/coding/?from=help

It's pretty easy to pick it up.

Sure, we have some featured strategies on the site currently. You can backtest them and fork them to make your own changes.

Cheers,

Wow, this site looks like what https://cryptotrader.org/ was eight months ago. Good luck, but personally i think cloning the ideas of others is nothing else but the way to failure.

Ouch. You could have written the same about Google in 1997; "This is just what Altavista does!". Being the first to market doesn't give you ownership over a concept. A concept that has been around a lot longer than 8 months, by the way.

Competition is a good thing for users.

Will you add bitfinex? I'd like to try out a margin long+short strategy.

Well, Google has succeed because it has brought big innovations. But all the features you announce are already provided by Cryptotrader.org. I'm just curious what are your innovations that will lead you to success?

We have a lot of new stuff in the pipeline but we aren't announcing anything yet.

To begin with it's already more user-friendly, faster and less prone to errors. Also, you can access data across multiple exchanges and tick intervals within the same backtest or live trading session, allowing you to do some arbitrage.

I'm not going to get into a flame war with you here, but you can email me if you'd like to hear more: hello@tradewave.net

Hey - yes we'll add more exchanges/alt-currencies/instruments; we're going to get the current features right first, and then add more based on demand.

this looks sick just wondering is it free?

Backtesting and most of the site's functionality will always be free. There will be a small monthly subscription for live trading.
