The average joe public wouldn't even know what an average is! Anyway, you objection is noted again, so lets see what the rest of the community think. Nobody is saying "Yes, this is what we are going to do"

I agree that if we were to take the alternative logo we should also take the symbol proposed in it. Not take an existing symbol.

What does everybody think about this as a text based coino currency symbol ?
making that symbol is def. what we should do! thats one of the ideas ive seen yet! keep up the good work yep! Ø (ALT + 0216) is better... You can use the ALT code! Maybe saad can make a version of that... Or what do you think? sry but that is the symbol of the arithmetic average... lol -why not using this one ¢ or this © i like the versions saad has done so far, but I would prefer to use the current logo as well at the coino.org and all other websites... I think it is something special. Look at the whole other coins which have jsut these boring static brand logos... If we talking about forms or static ads in newspapers - or if we have in the future a merchandising shop.. with t-shirts, longsleeves, stickers, cups and so on we should use the version saad had done. I also like the logo Saad has done but for writing out a currency value on your keyboard it would be good to adopt an existing ASCII symbol, and the LATIN O with Strike is the closest symbol to the logo. It doesn't mater if it's the mathematical average sign, there is no reason it can't be used when referring to coino quantities I also like the ¢ symbol but maybe to refer to coino cents 500¢ is equal to Ø5.00 But I think µØ looks pretty cool anyway Yeah exactly. I Second the single struck O. I love the double strike but unfortunately we can't implement it. We can easily adopt the single strike, however. I was trying to find an ASCII symbol with a struck O, that one's perfect. Also love the cent for 100 units, and the mu coino That'll be the day, when we're dealing in fractions No one would confuse it. Only us techies, maths and science majors would know what the averages sign even means. Bitcoin does have it's own symbol, yes. But it can't be used anywhere as it's not implemented into the alt codes... You have to make do with the existing struck Bs.

Hi guys, This is Saad, a user from coinoforum.com I've been working on rebranding Coino to a more acceptable (by us and normal people) brand look and feel. The problem for me with the current logo is that it looks geeky, old and not really a logo but an implementation of what the logo should've been. I'm in no way disrespecting the creator of the current logo but I feel that a more solid and full branding task should commence sooner than later. Here is the final outcome of many valued opinions from members of that forum: Let me know what you guys think. Wow! Awesome job man!I hope Mr Coino and his crew agree aswell!

We should translate an article about Coino into a bunch of languages. Mandarin first? Any volunteers that have a native language other than English? Or are very proficient in a second language? Please stop quoting that huge ass picture its so annoying.
lol I agree. Just edit the picture out if you want to quote and comment on it Like Soregums here did!

Otherwise, it's a problem with coinmarket.io I suspect this is artificial and is designed to get you all to sell you coino low so that they can come along and buy yours cheap I would pretty much just ignore it. Yep, definitely price manipulation. Notice how they are all for 10 coino and each order is undercutting the last by 5 satoshi instead of 1. This is the sort of thing that admins of exchanges should be banning people for.

I agree. Does anybody here have contact with the exchange admins? We really need to point these things out to them.

Free markets are suppose to be free... If someone does this and it works, it is because the market supports it. If the market is made of up stupid people, then that can't be helped. If you want total control (any control) then it isn't a free market. Please Explain to me why you think controls and rules on the "free capitalist market" is the way forward? (this is like a government wanting to filter the internet) also lets take this back to BitCoin, everyone is quick to point out how no one can control it unless they own 51% of the hash rate, that is the only place control is enforceable... everything else is agreements between people

SoreGums, you make a good point. The problem is just that most people are too ignorant to understand the manipulation that is taking place and it is bad for the coin as a whole.
I don't agree with censorship but there are certain things that cross the line I think. Take the internet for example. I don't think the use of the internet should be regulated, but at the same time, people can use the internet to stage DoS attacks. I think when there is malicious intent, a line has to be drawn somewhere. In this case, the intent is to trick people out of their coins, and therefor their money. I do understand the idea of, "if they are dumb enough to be fooled into it then it serves them right to lose their coins". But at the same time, it doesn't just hurt the people that are being tricked. Everyone's coinos are losing value due to this.
In our free market, it is illegal to participate in insider trading. All these people are doing is benefiting from information being passed along right? Wrong. They are profiting off of other peoples loss due to manipulation and being in the know before hand that it is happening. In a free market, prices should go up and down based on supply and demand, not market manipulation.
These exchanges that coino is on are not setup very well. They are not taking volume into account when determining ticker prices so they are very easily manipulated. I do agree that people should educate themselves enough to not get taken advantage of, but it is still no excuse to purposely trick people out of their earnings.
I'm with you though, I hate censorship and regulation. Just not as much as I hate manipulation.

The solution to this problem is probably not to ban people. The exchanges just need to redo the way they determine the ticker price and take into account the volume. Then the ticker will reflect the true value and the people that are attempting the manipulation will have no incentive to post all of these small orders undercutting themselves over and over.

I'm with you on the manipulation part thanks for that perspective. This sort of direction makes sense and I think the focus on these sorts of discussions is a preferred than a simple/blunt reactionary "ban hammer".

It's just like the issue of drug policy. Locking up a drug warlord doesn't solve the problem. Someone else will just step into that role the next day. Just the same, if one manipulator gets banned, there will be plenty more. The exchanges just need to be setup better and take into account the volume so that there is no incentive for people to post a bunch of small sell orders at low prices in the first place.

For some reason they didn't teach this symbol to me through my 11.5yrs of formal education in Australia. I even did the 2unit maths (being the 2nd level) in 10 and 11. Funny. I thought Unicode handled this for us as well. Create a font and have it override something that is good enough if the person doesn't have that font? This would work fine on the internet, only run into issues when working offline and not able to include the required font. Hmm I see a flaw in my idea, once the world caught up with coino then we'd have a conflict and have two characters occupying the same spot in the map, boo. Got any other existing characters we are able to cannibalise for our purposes??? Else we might have to simply live with the square character showing up until everyone catches up and it is a non issue going forward. (wanted to paste the square char however everything I Googled showed how to solve the problem)
