Hi there! I choosed bitcoin as theme for graduation and pre-graduation work, so now I'm trying to determine specific topic for both works. As for couple days ago, I decided make pre-graduation topic something like "analyze for user-level security threats and fix it in official client" - thats mean I was going to add crypt-protection to stored wallet-keys and some other tweaks. But release of new version just already have all these upgrades  Angry  Grin
So guys maybe you can suggest some specific theme for me. For pre-graduation work I need some really practical topic like as I described, and for graduation work I need some cryptographic topic and a little practical target. So some parts of network functionality (may be pools?) to approve network security in math terms, and make some adjacent application (like pool-mining server).

I'll be very glad for any proposal guys, and sorry for my english Smiley

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Sounds interesting. May be a dumb idea but how about a tool for encrypted P2P communication attached to your Bitcoin wallet so you can encrypt messages and send them to other users' wallets? It could make dealings with strangers a lot safer. A combined BTC and GPG, I guess.

So, what do you think about transfering 10^-8 coins per message and filled comment field crypted with public key?
And guys, may be some more ideas? For graduation work? Smiley
