A recent story published on BBC, reports that the Environment Agency has warned England about facing water supply shortages by 2050 unless rapid action is taken to lessen water use and wastage. The report indicates that enough water to meet the needs of 20 million people is lost through leakage every day. Aside from the leakage, population growth and the impact of climate change are also contributing to supply pressures.

Wastage of water, coupled with other pressing environmental issues should be addressed immediately before destruction of our planet takes place.

Are you ready to experience drought in the near future?

This can be one of the biggest problem for us. We know what are the importance of water. We cannot survive without water. We must do some ways for this kind of big problem. Theres a lot of way to have a water supply. We must conserve water. This would be the one of the scarriest news for England

I'm in England and my taps still work  Grin

The problem is the amount of water wasted by the water companies through broken pipes / leaks and people in general be wasteful with water.

Tell the queen to stop watering the palace gardens and put the water to good use.  Its shocking how much water everyone wastes, you don't need to take a 30 minutes shower everyday.

I think this should be an eye opener for everyone that there's really problem happening with regards to water shortage. Some people might say that how can we have shortage on water if there's a lot of it in the world. The thing that was being talked about is the fresh water that can be used for drinking. We should now value the water we have right now. We don't have to be ready for the drought as we should do something for it to be solve. I think that we could do something for this, we just need to caught attention of everyone about this matter.

Excuse me, but "drought" is not a thing that's related to limited processed water being piped to population centers.

Drought is a weather phenomena.

No I am not, and I hope we all do something about this. How about we stop throwing out trash into the ocean or any body of water because it contaminates clean water, right? It is disappointing that not a lot of us are concern about what is going on in our environment. What do you suggest people do to prevent water supply shortage?

Even though the media is going to try to spin this in a way which means that England is going to run out of water, this just simply isn't going to happen. People have to understand that this isn't the case -- even if England does run out of water, there is going to be other ways of getting water into the country. If this is really an issue, there is going to be some advancements in science that is going to lead to getting water from other sources, business is going to advance as they see an ability to make money off of this -- and they're going to compete in order to bring water to England (if this is REALLY an issue)

Though I don't think it is an issue in the least, people, have to understand that.
