Ladies and gentlemen, the Bitcoin Stackexchange Site is now in public beta!

After just 9 days in private beta, we’ve already got 193 users who have asked 191 questions and written 414 answers as well as a TwitterBot (http://twitter.com/#!/BitcoinSE)

StackExchange is a place for serious Q&A and will be more heavily moderated than these forums. No offense to the mods of course, forums are just a different kind of place, more conversational/casual  Grin

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the Bitcoin Stackexchange's new pro-tem moderation team!

Look at me with that diamond by my name all official and shit. I promise to use my powers for good Wink

In any case, by most metrics we're a thriving little community now. I encourage anyone currently looking for answers here and not finding them to give the StackExchange a shot too!

It's been 92 days in beta now and according to http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/30763/bitcoin it seems we're not quite there yet.

We could really use some more questions!

The Bitcoin stackexchange is already a high quality source of information about Bitcoin and it would be a real pity if we would not make it beyond beta. I'd encourage you all to use it on a more frequent basis and ask your questions there - even if you know the answer, others might still benefit from an interesting topic covered at the stackexchange.

Nearly all the questions are getting answered well for free, so 'never' seems right.

I wouldn't worry about it.
"Beta" is pretty arbitrary on Stack Exchange. We're not going to get shut down if we don't move past beta or anything.

More questions and answers are always nice though.

That's good to know, thanks!

Since the Bitcoin client is still in beta as well it's only fitting Smiley
