Because of price fluctuation, masternode operation isn't good for general invest now.

I am feeling that investors start running Masternodes these days not for the ROI but for possibility to be able to participate in the decentralized management of the Dash project.
It is difficult to find another such investment on the planet where ordinary investors (minorities) have fair and transparent access to manage(through voting) the object of their investment.

The participation in such project is great. But it would be much better if everyone had just one vote. Not like it is at the moment where Mr. A has got 400 votes and Mr. B 200 votes. Can you imagine a project where everyone is equal? That would be something.

The masternodes could vote for the algo to be switched to stay ASIC resistant, right?
Is that being discussed somewhere?

I was wondering if Dash is listed on any Chinese Exchange... may you help me about this point?

Thanks a lot,

Actually, that kind of equality would greatly increase dissatisfaction with outcomes for heavily-invested people or, worse - any disruptive troll could influence the project for little cost. In its present form, those with the most to lose/gain have the greatest potential effect on the project. Furthermore, anyone can join their ranks at any time by committing funds to the coin - putting their money where their mouth is. There is no old boys club with closed ranks - anyone has equal opportunity to join.

The difference is one of "involvement" vs. "commitment". In a meal of bacon and eggs, the chicken was involved but the pig was committed. In DASH-world, greater voting power entails greater commitment. It is a very effective approach.

I choose never to vote, even though I am a MN holder. Despite that, I like the present structure very much - there is strong systemic commitment to make the coin prosper, but anyone involved can ride on the coattails of those who have a lot at stake and presumably know what they are doing (luck notwithstanding).

In any case, it is what it is - if you prefer a different setup, just choose a different coin to support.

Yes, the name is "communism" and it is good only "in theory", in practice it's absolutely uncompetitive.

It's not a democracy, it's more like shares in a company.  Although this project has open forums where anyone can participate to sway voters to their point of view.

Aside from that, if you wanted to make it so that each MN owner of any amount only gets one vote, it would require full disclosure of who you are.  And that could also be faked, so what's the point?

And if everyone (anyone) could vote, then people who haven no interest - no skin in the game - could vote themselves money to the determent to the project.

There is no better way to do this than how it is already set up.  When we argue on the forum threads for a proposal, I don't know if the person swaying me for my vote is a MN holder or not, but they can still sway my vote.  So it's more like a republic than a democracy, but a true republic.

Fernando represented Dash Nation well at the Internet Freedom Festival today! Let him be an inspiration to others to get out and talk about Dash whenever and wherever you can.

Thanks Fernando!

The ASICs of course. To welcome them to any network is a mistake imo. I've been kicked off at least five networks by them, so I know what I am talking about.

The masternodes could vote for the algo to be switched to stay ASIC resistant, right?
Is that being discussed somewhere?
Not that I've seen.

EDIT: Well, apparently ASICs are a good thing!

I`m not in favor of them. I`m surprised the change from DRK to DASH caused more uproar than this fundamental change. I thought ASIC resistance was a given feature with DASH.
