What are the next big things ahead of dash?
First, legal opinions indicating (THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC. D.B.A.) Dash is operating an unregistered and unlicensed Money Services Business. Second, fun with the SEC, as they discover Dash's "Masternode" investment instrument fails the Howey Test and thus constitutes an illegal security.

What do we do now that DASH prices are in free fall and Zcash is around the corner with superior privacy?
Dash always drops when traders jump to "the latest and greatest", so if you're a trader, you follow the herd. As far as Dash is concerned, it hasn't even begun to be useful, so the rest of us have a long term view of things. Dash has it's eye on the prize, which is fiat replacement everywhere, completely independant and decentralized. Privacy is a function of fungibility. When other projects make a blockchain obscured privacy coin, sure, as long as you trust the coding and that there are no back doors, you should use that for illegal trade. Other people simply want to know that they can remove the history behind their coins if those coins are unwanted by someone they want to trade with, for any reason, there by providing fungibility. I'm amazed at how many people keep coming here basically questioning Dash's survivability against competition on one single service feature. People really don't get what Dash is about ..... still! I'm the only one crazy enough to say this, but this is the idea: Dash wants to be the fiat replacement of the world. All the old Satoshi goals lie with Dash, only the Dash team understands how that needs to look, how it needs to function, how it needs to interface. Even if Dash has the initial wallet integration of Evolution, there will be no reason an outside group wouldn't be able to use the DAPI to provide services to others. From centralized services to other decentralized services. I speak broadly, because it is broad and completely inclusive. Dash realizes that there will be other currencies to compete with, but frankly, everyone else is so far behind... the only current competition for some time will be Fiat, and fiat alone. Everyone else is aiming for niche markets. Dash is aiming for the population of the world, a new order of financial service providers using Dash and will allow for any project to be built on top of the Dash network. Dash is the foundation that can carry the world, and will certainly carry a significant portion of the world. Everyone has such limited and narrow ideas of what can be done. Not just one point, the mixing doesn't work and 4.1 mill or so tied up in masternodes and who knows who owns them and when they will decide to liquidate. Well who cares if the owners of Dash keep their funds stored away in masternodes. If each owner sees it necessary or time to sell, they will sell, that is a good thing. The same can be said about every single asset of some sorts. Who knows when major Apple stock holders can liquidate at any time! Who knows when the Monero holders will start selling off! What will happen when the people holding Zcash need to liquidate the 20% block rewards that they get! As for mixing, it works just fine. Mixing must be done before hand, but once done, it is solid tech. Are there other technologies that provide stronger privacy? Sure, but that doesn't make Dash a failure. Just as these new families of privacy assets aren't so good for every day instant transactions doesn't rule them worthless either. If they can sell. Liquidity on the bid side of things has not ever looked very consistent above say 800-1000 BTC for very long. Now it is at ~300btc or less. How can one sell if there is not much liquidity to sell into? Race for the exits is in Dash's future at some point. It is like a roach motel of crypto, you check in but you don't check out (if you do you were one of the lucky ones). Good luck to those who are invested in DASH.

Quoting eduffield from slack 12.1 is basically the beginning step to having the foundation to start many projects at once. Next is DAPI, DashDrive and Evolution Front/Back start all at once. 12.1 is basically our pivot, from a small startup, to a well funded international project powered purely by open source technology + pure decentralization. It’s the most critical change the project has ever been through. Unlike other projects we have a lot to look forward to

If they can sell.
Liquidity on the bid side of things has not ever looked very consistent above say 800-1000 BTC for very long. You're only looking at exchanges. Most of the significant trades (including $100,000 +) don't happen on exchanges, they are OTC trades where there is plenty of liquidity.

Stuff can drop on low volume as well as high. A retrace to 0.016 was something I've been expecting for a while but it just took weeks in coming. Buying back some of my trading Dash now. (Also, a retrace is always healthy as the next leg up on the nodecount). Need to keep an eye on the big picture. The bottoms are always rising. ... Wow, actually we're at moderately high volume for Dash and the price is continuing to drop rapidly. I wish I could buy more! It looks like Ethereum and Litecoin are seeing a surge, but not enough to account for the hiking to leeward?!?! LOL. Hope nobody needs to sell ATM! I'd love to hear anyone's non-trolling theories as to what's going on? It's the usual Dash: buy below 0.01, sell above 0.02, repeat once in a year or two to profit. Not sure if I'm trolling or not There is another coin which had exactly the same pattern until recently. Hope Dash will keep up Are you saying that DASH is going to drop under 0.01 for the next year? If I was sure I'd shorted it right away, but I don't. Looking at the chart, the next bottom could be around 0.011. But it's never that simple, isn't it?

Most of the significant trades (including $100,000 +) don't happen on exchanges, they are OTC trades where there is plenty of liquidity. Exchanges modulate the prices at which OTC trades occur, so smoothie's point about the upcoming Dash To The Exit stands untouched. Your deflection about "muh significant OTC trades" fails to dispute, much less account for, the collapsing bid side smoothie noted. Do you have any evidence for your assertions that 1) "most" significant trades don't happen on exchanges, and 2) there is plenty of liquidity in OTC trades?

so smoothie's point about the upcoming Dash To The Exit stands untouched. You mean like the last time you and him came round here trolling that there wasn't "enough buy liquidity" and that people were "heading for the exits". I think the price was around 0.008 then - half the current "low" LoL. I trust your influence will have a similar "impact" this time Trolls are back. Buytime!
They're just back on Risto's payroll after he replenished his pockets following the recent engineered pump of his favourite asset off its lows. (Though I think iCEBREAKER's contributions are a probably a voluntary source of entertainment)

It's only mater of time, ones DASH goes up, will newer go back. Like Bitcoin, from 2011 to 2013 range cca. 3USD - 14USD, now it's imposible to get it back to this price. Adoption is what's needed.
