The reason Dashcoin (Cryptonote) is pretty much dead is because their main developer sold his Github access to Dash back in 2015,
during our name transition from Darkcoin to Dash, to avoid name confusion and for us to get the opportunity to claim the Dash name.

Activity on that cryptonote project then pretty much dried up. Activity was pretty low to begin with during that time as their main developer lost
interest in his cryptonote project, so far i can remember. Even coinmarketcap has stopped tracking this cryptonote project : https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dashcoin/

I wonder if arielbit (former Dashcoin cryptonote supporter, turned into Dash troll) is still pissed about it or if he moved on...  Undecided

Thanks for the explanation qwizzie!

Also nice and detailed PrivateSend info, good to know.

Thanks for making some light about Dash privacy, as I wanted to buy some Dash because I think privacy coins will have a good future, but I was a bit hesitant to be honest reading here and there (on this thread) about Dash's privacy.

Anyone know of a more reliable Android app for monitoring masternode status than the DashCentral one? I am finding it's not very reliable in accurately monitoring the status when the MN is in error or goes offline.  Embarrassed

Two  questions :

* Do you  have Dash Central remote data and automatic restart  activated  on www.dashcentral.org (My Account / Account Settings) ?
* Do you have push up and / or email  notifications enabled on www.dashcentral.org (Notifications) ?

Personally i don't know any other safe and reliable Android app that does what Dash Central offers.
Maybe someone else can help you with this, as there are more crypto projects that offer masternode services.

whats with that huge TX wave for last few hours? massive blocks with TX from unknown hands https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/block.dws?1238146.htm etc
*snip

doesn't look like anything else. why would pools ignore mixing TXs tho

I think i see what you mean : https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/block.dws?000000000000001dfb8419f7f342912e4b3b0ee39a244f5186c1a9669ccde555.htm
Lots and lots and lots of these :

Looks like either a stress test or a spam attack. Looks like it overloaded our Dash transaction history counter : http://178.254.23.111/~pub/Dash/Dash_Info.html (Block / Trx Info)

That looks like a code to me. If you think about it you could use this to store information. If you make it clever enough no one than you can ever access it.

I shouldn't put bad ideas into ppl's mind (don't like missuse/bloating of blockchains) but what came into my mind was this:

What if you custom made encode the private keys and store this on the blockchain of said coin itself?
This way you are not prone of losing your private keys ever as long as said blockchain exists. Nothing can harm it. Best safe place ever.

Edit: Ah I see you refered to executable code. No I meant encoded data with "code" just in a way no ones know it. Super secret safe.

Weak link would shift to the encode / decode process, if you somehow loose access to the decode part or it gets decoded due to some
new development ....

I don't see how custom made encoding can be decoded if you make it right. It's way harder to decode it when the encoding algo isn't known. And if you have no clue what the data shall represent at the end you are lost.
Of course you have to use password protected encoding.

I actually did protect data this way. You encode them with a known encodeing algo and additional with a custom made. That's why I came to this idea. Instead storing the result somewhere private...this would be nice to put onto a blcokchain.

Yes the encoding process and the password will still be a troubleing point to keep safe.

The release of DASH platform v0.11 boosted its price to the moon, after very long correction time.

I congratulate to all DASH investors and thank to the DASH team for all their hard works behind the scene as well as @Tungi and @qwizzie for all of your news updated very frequently in the ANN thread.

Just one question, I am surprised to see the volume of DASH remains not too high, compares to many recently born coins. Any clarification on this phenomenon, please (just my curiosity). I hope to see higher volume for DASH next months.

Thanks to the ever so knowledgeable and helpful qwizzie!! I don't have the remote data and automatic restart enabled so I'll look into that later today (looks like it takes a bit to setup) and I only had email notifications enabled; I've now added the Android pushover notification which I'm assuming is for the Android DaahCentral app.
