what if someone controls 51% of the master nodes ? wouldn't that be a bummer ?

The masternodes are owned by different users, on different servers, in different countries. The process is such that a single person or a single entity can't possess all the knowledge, unless it owns every masternodes, not the majority, everything. But then it would be pointless, since it would have to possess all coins (expensive) to track its own transactions. That's the decentralization by Darkcoin  Wink

I was told in my earpiece that there is more to come.

We are past the $11M market cap, and the price just keeps going. I wonder if/when we will surpass Mastercoin?
Luckily I bought in 2 weeks ago.

If? Really?

Mastercoin is a joke, it will be annihilated.

...and it's holder's assimilated.

Assimilated :  Yes, that is what is going to happen over the next year or so... The holders of failing Cryptos will (very slowly and reluctantly) move to active vibrant communities. The first ones to move will be the more talented and visionary. Thus better Currencies will assimilate worse.

Sorry for asking a noob question.
After the hardfork of the 14th can I just use this version and remplace the wallet.dat with my current wallet.dat and then i am on the correct fork? In other words it's only the walletsoftware dat determines the correct fork and not the wallet.dat file?

If he wants to use DarkSend, otherwise the regular version 0.9.3.2 will work post fork too. (and I don't see v0.10.7.2-unk-beta for Mac)

For now, only the stable version (without DarkSend) is available on Mac. I agree, but he can at least use a functional version after the fork.

omfg 2421 difficulty.

The difficulty shouldn't surprise you. The influx of miners to the alternative currencies has exponentially risen the difficulty of almost all coins. Mining DRK isn't even that profitable now. The price has to rise.

We found another (yet again!) issue with the masternode voting system and have pushed up a fix. Please update before Wednesday.

Source code:
https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin

Stable version (v0.9.3.2):
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoind
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoin-qt

RC2 (v0.10.7.2):
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoind
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoin-qt

Run a masternode? Update to v0.10.7.2
Run a service? Update to v0.9.3.2
Run a windows client? Binaries will be available soon (InternetApe will post later)

BUMP for everyone updating...

Hey Guys, do you know if when updating an already running masternode, you need to go through the start masternode remotely process again?  I just updated and all I did was stop darkcoind in the server, replace it with the new version, start it again, done... and it seems to still be in the masternode list, without having to go through the remote start my masternode, etc. Could anyone confirm this please? I just want to make sure that I dont have to do anything else if my masternode was already running.

The masternodes "ping" the network every 30 minutes in order to prove they're still active. So when you shut one down, it actually takes a while to expire from the list.

If I just created a masternode with that guide, do I have the most recent version then?

Yes, use the above version, as it was just posted by Evan today as a bug fix, and the guide should be the same.

Both of you should make sure you do this with a remote wallet so you can keep your coins safely in "cold storage" (save the .dat file with the coins in it on a jump drive off line.  Keep it safe!)

I havn't tried masternodeaddr yet.
People are using masternodeaddr for "cold storage".

As far as I know, Evan said both need to be online. At least for now.

Is there any changes ?

Evan,

Can you confirm the local wallet can be offline in this configuration?  It seems to work on testnet but it would be good to have your confirmation!

Thanks.

Man... I sent 10 BTC from Mintpal to Cryptsy last night. It took 5-6 hours before Mintpal approved the withdrawal. Then the deposit did not show up on Cryptsy. It still hasn't reached my account. I've already created a support ticket... If the price shoots up now I'll be so pissed. I wanted to buy up the big-ish sell orders around .0060 on Cryptsy.
