I set up a friend to mine Darkcoin at the beginning of february on amazon ec2, his target was 0.01, I told him move the target you're gonna get crushed in a few days. He's still very happy but we shot way past 0.01. He turned $100 to close to over $2500 though, good on him. Anyways don't kill yourself. Buy back for part of your BTC and don't touch it again for a month.

The problem right now is that i want to day trade hardcore until i get my darks back to where it was and i know that will fk me even harder. Too much wtf and too many shots right now feeling good but in think in 15min ill be quite dizzy.

Is this going up or down... thats the question

Like a gambler you want to recoup your losses by playing more. That's not a good strategy, you may lose more instead.

Been analyzing the Masternode:DRK/BTC Price ratio and I have some very rough conclusions...

-Since the masternode chart (http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.html) started tracking total master nodes on April 13, each single added master node has seen close to a 7000-8000 satoshi rise in the DRK/BTC Price.

-On April 25-27, the ratio rose to, and stayed at about, 10,000 satoshi per masternode at which point price corrected over the next week back to about a 7,000 satoshi per masternode ratio.

-2 days ago on May 13 though, the masternodes started shooting up without price following it dramatically and so each masternode was only worth around 3,500 satoshi.

-Right now we have 192 masternodes and price is at 1361900, which equates to slightly over 7,000 satoshi per masternode. In other words we are fairly priced based on this short masternode and price history.

I'll continue tracking this ratio to see how well it persists and I'm still coming up with a theory for where this relationship, if it truly exists, will go.
It could be that the ratio starts to weaken so that each masternode slowly has a smaller and smaller effect on price...however since the masternodes are essentially taking DRK out of circulation the DRK price could also increase dramatically and parabolically.

We'll see.

That would make me choose DRK over BTC!

Folks, remember when your comparing prices, you've got to take account of the coin supply.

DRK's current coin supply is on third of Bitcoin's and a fifth of Litecoin's.

That means if you value DRK at, say, half Litecoin's price then the supply corrected target price would be (LTC x 5) / 2 = 0.06 BTC.

I'm not saying that half LTC's price is the right or wrong valuation, that's for people to decide themselves. I'm just saying you need to take account of coin supply when calculating it.

Another thing that's going reduce DRK's coin supply is the amount of DRK that's removed from it to support masternodes. That will further drive the price because that part of the supply will never reach any markets.

Evan should down the 1000 darks that are necessary to create a masternode to 500 at least cause when the network reach the 100.000 masternodes, the 50% of the coins will be out of markets.

The total number of masternodes is hard limited to 10,000, I believe.  Evan talked about this at some point in this thread - too many MNs would actually do more harm to the network than good.

If you look at the DRK rich list: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!rich you'll notice the VAST majority of addresses haven't accessed coin in the last 24 hours.

Meaning the big holders aren't bothering to trade DRK.  They're in it for the longer term because they understand the true value of this coin.

Most of the  worrying that things are going to happen in our sleep will be eased when a high volume exchange adopts Kraken's features. For example trailing stop losses.

I suggest that we all ask this of our favorite exchanges. https://www.kraken.com/

I second that.
I didn't even consider their stop-loss system when I wanted to propose the idea to convince Kraken about adopting DRK.
I am "using" them since Gox closed (well, I don't really trade much in fiat/BTC these days but I tested and choose them for the possible future occasion when I do).

The way I see it, there's a reason we're #7 on coinmarketcap. Hell, the volume is still north of five million dollars. That is something extraordinary.

Glad the price has settled somewhat. I'll be buying more asap.

There won't be dump as seen with copy coins pumps. Why?

First and foremost - this isn't just trading. This is coin with a value - privacy, anonymous transactions.
Demand for that is huge, so why sell now if we can be @100 or more in a 6-12 months.

Second - whales just don't have enough coins. Distribution is excellent, supply is scarce, a lot of coins is tied in the masternodes - almost 170.000 in the running ones, I have no doubt there's 300.000-500.000 prepared to start on 25th.

Surely there will be a correction, but the new floor will be massively higher than few days ago.

And who knows, if people turn back on LTC/DOGE, we might see several weeks long run.

In any case, best to hold, smile, and enjoy some popcorn watching exchange action.
If the 1+ DRK per day estimate for masternode is correct, that alone dramatically boosts the value doesnt it?

James

Just beware, I think the second masternodes get paid, tons of people will jump in, and there will be easily a thousand or so nodes in no time.  That means payouts will be very small, there is only one pie, and it must be divided up.  So Masternodes are not going to be a cash cow.

In fact, this is part of the plan.  We don't want too many masternodes because when there are too many, they will clog up the system.  It should balance itself out in the end, but just so you realize, if it's easy coins, it won't be for long, doubt more than a day Smiley

I wonder if Darkcoin has made its first millionaire yet.

You mean cashed out that much or have unrealized gains of that much? If the latter, I know of at least one.

Well with 4,2 millions coins actualy, I don't see how we can have more than 4200 MN.

No!  Really?  Well, no sleep for you then, you must watch and buy back as soon as you can, I'm sure there will be a "correction" down, perhaps, to .01 or even .008, but you must be ready for it!

Good luck!  I'd rather not get the ulcers again, LOL, I lost 80 dark, today that would be 560 bucks!  All gone!  Never to be seen again, and with coins I paid for, not mined.  For me, that's a small fortune, LOL, I'm sure you all are laughing, but it is.... actually, I think I'm gonna be sick, LOL...

Something I've been thinking a lot about lately.

It would be amazing it DRK bundled meshnet software into its wallets.  So you're out on your laptop, fire up your wallet, and connect to a meshnet, bypassing traditional ISPs.

An additional layer of privacy and security.

Some reading for those of you interesting in the idea of meshnets.

With what the FCC is trying to pull with net neutrality here in the USA, do this and holy fuck...
