I'm going to hold as well. The thing with technicals is maybe something changes and before it hits .01 or whatever it is, and technical trader start buying back in. Then suddenly we're sitting here waiting for the .01 that never comes because we have no idea. Then the tech trader comes back and says, oh ya, at .013 the dick-in-hand pattern emerged so I went all-in. Too bad all you suckers that were waiting for .01.

As a trader I don't sweat it.... did I make a decent profit when I sold? Yes? Good. Mission accomplished. So what if I sold a little early. If I have to buy back in later for more expensive, I'm more concerned about getting in at the right time to relatively safely increase my BTC , than I am worried about "losing" or reducing quantities of other coins due to having sold early as a safety precaution.

If I'm selling to buy back in, I make damn sure it's a real "high" that we will come down from, not just a temporary stopping level. Then I don't try and wait for the bottom. I buy back in fairly quickly when it's significantly cheaper than I sold it for. If I think there is a bottom somewhere, I'll buy back in a ways before it gets there. I'm satisfied with smaller, safer gains. This keeps me  from being a sucker (as often). Basically greed will make one a sucker more often than not I've found.

I play the market with any coin I think I can profit from. But, I would never sell high to buy back low unless I had good reason to believe the coin may have long term promise and is not in a long term down trend, etc. For instance I would never try to accumulate LTC in such a fashion, but DRK, certainly. Ultimately my goal is to accumulate BTC though, not DRK... so I will always be selling at the highs and buying back in (whether higher or lower). That may change as this project matures, but so far I still have significant doubts, just due to the odds of success being small, even with great tech.

True I may do much better just buying and holding, it's possible, but I feel like it's more of a gamble for me to do that. I feel safe moving in and out of the market frequently and constantly re-evaluating my positions. I guess if you feel more confident in DRKs future, compared to BTCs, then it might feel more risky to lose DRKs by selling. I love DRK, but I must admit I'm much more confident and comfortable holding and accumulating BTC.

I’m not as sure as he is, but I’m in broad agreement with mikemikemike, for pretty much the same reasons. Though the moon is in our future, I think we've a lot more sliding down to do in the short term.

I'm also quite shocked at some of the mud that was thrown at him a few pages ago. We need to be open to hearing reasoned arguments we might not like to hear, and not treat them all as if they're the same as the idiot spamtrolls we're frequently infested with.

The uninitiated don't make money. That's the thing... They stayed away from Bitcoin at 30$ because it was a bubble, they stayed away from it at 70$ because it was a bubble, they stayed away from it at 120-140$ because it was a bubble etc etc. And I've seen articles like "oh the founder has kept a stash of 1mn coins, this is ridiculous, it's a pyramid" escalating all the way to claiming the NSA made bitcoin to impose the new world order. Ok.

As I say, I don't want to detract from the real business of this thread which is the coin development and can understand the frustrations of those that get sick of all this price speculation, but I feel it's important to try to bring some perspective to the debate that professional "shark" traders usually keep held close to their chests.

I don't think there is a problem with how things went through in the last ~30 days.
Crazy market movements and public price talk are both powerful tools to attract attention in the altcoin market in the early stages of the coin when raw volume is more important than quality.
More over, I think these are inevitable anyway, so what's the point in forcefully muting these topics?

And I think it's an unprecedentedly nice thing that those who often read this forum and learned which topic regulars are trustworthy and who are notorious manipulators (also useful if identified as such) receive educated advices which can help them in making better trading decisions.

we've got to separate out market stuff from development stuff (which is why I agree with the appeals for a separate "speculation" thread).

But I agree that development, price talk and general marketing should be separated topics in the future (not entirely and forcefully but they should find their own baselines and flow with that).
Of course, the marketing should still highlight development news (as I see, this is both a technical and marketing feature of DRK and I don't think that's wrong) but shouldn't be fixated on and/or limited to that and should generally ignore the price talk (even the positive ones unless it's extreme or significant and long term, like a >10x spiking or a "yearly/quarterly report" kind of analysis as a part of some publications).

I brought back in @ 0.0008 - 0.0012. I saw it coming days ago and informed the community. Just like what I'm doing now.

Not everyone can liquidate, the depth isn't there. People are most likely defensive because:
1) You stand to make money at their expense
2) If everyone followed your advice DRK would most likely die from extreme loss of confidence. The crash the would ensue would be insane.

Holders give the coin value by allowing liquidity to build, this allows traders to trade. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Don't say your advice is for the community, say it's for the traders, because it is. The community could give less of a fuck because the 'community' are holders.
