As we near the open source release of Darkcoin's DarkSend, the last action on my list of to-do's that need to be made is for Satoshi to use Darkcoin, preferably by transferring a BTC from a known Satoshi address, or perhaps a message under 'I am not Dorian Nakamoto' post http://p2pfoundation.ning.com/profile/SatoshiNakamoto

That is a tall challenge, and one that would easily fail.

But, I may give it a try. What do you think? Is it worth trying, or would that cause unintended consequences that might create more problems?

but why do you think satoshi would use darkcoin before is completely opensource? this would clearly only work after satoshi could have read the code... you cannot ask him to use (promote) a blackbox?

For all we know he is looking at it now.

But, to your good point. I haven't figured out the best way forward on this, yet.

But the New York - which-may-become-a-template-for-all states- regulations, plus the IP tracking issues and the implications for the safety of individuals using Bitcoin, all seem to make a compelling case for, at the very least, saying, '...possibly, there are some merits....' and this could at a very outside chance lead to '....let me try....'

I don't think it will be an easy thing to achieve. So if you are up for the challenge go for it! Any progress on this would be really interesting. Even if an opinion could be garnered on the New York regulation clusterfuck that would be interesting. The search or attempt itself I think would be worthwhile.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

DRK is on the cusp of being the best thing since bitcoin.

----------

Look at the darksend+ example then go back to your coin's diagram and tell me which one looks harder to crack.

So we have the darksend+ in RC4 in testing

Darksend+ pre-privatises your coins so you can use them as you normally would - ie. Darksend+ makes darkcoin ready for the world.

Proper adoption can begin in ernest. Beyond crypto land.

This will be vetted by Kristov Atlas - so actually vetted as opposed to other coins claiming "anon - promise!"

Did you guys watch the latest "The Bitcoin Group" episode?

Kristov Atlas addresses the DarkCoin Community, and expresses his gratitude:

http://youtu.be/bcEryV8_i7c?t=1h18m54s

--------------

And with that comes the becoming more pro and ready for the world developments:

We are getting electrum wallets - regenerate your wallets from a seed phrase.

Just keeping everyone up to date with Darkcointalk. Super exciting all the time!!!!

Quote from Tante:
Quote
"Also, one of the exciting opportunities that Masternodes provide, is that they can host the blockchain, decentralized, for lightweight users. I hope this feature happens soon. So only the masternodes, mining nodes and people who want to have a copy of the blockchain ever need have it. And yet it will still be stored in a decentralized fashion."

More Info:
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/development-updates-july-15th.1788/page-3
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-drk-electrum-server.1648/page-2
http://electrum-drk.org/

-------------------

Separately we are getting an upgrade to look and functionality of the QT wallets

-----------------------

Also of interest:

xpool.ca multi pool where you can mine with X11, Scrypt or your old sha256 asics and get payed in DRK!

darkbids.com ebay for darkcoin. Sell stuff for darkcoin, buy stuff for darkcoin

-----------------------

And lastly we've consistently had the highest volume on mintpal and cryptsy for quite a while now.

So in short..

RC4 is coming be ready!!

If he is the Brit I think he is, then the search is a lower priority issue.

It's pretty simple: If DarkCoin becomes the long term preferred coin for unlawful trades (Drugs, Guns, CP) on the Dark Web. It will be 50x till 300x of the value today.

And / or proves practically useful to the CIA, Mossad etc. (Although the spooks and criminals enjoy a rather large Venn overlap... Wink))

When it's good enough for these groups, the rich will follow. At this point there may be room for a second anon coin to survive, but not until then, and if Darkcoin's infrastructure continues to grow and related services are flourishing, that 2nd anon coin is going to need something truly revolutionary to compete.

It's 2 day POW then POS empty promise vapourware bullshit of the highest order.

Being pumped on polo. Then crash into the ground.
--------

Invest in people doing the work not shit that's lurking to nab the hard work.
Feeling more an more cynical with every coin released. Can't carry on with this eek after week of vapourware shit mined, ipo'd pumped dumped.

Stick to real coins with real futures. Excited about RC4 I but definitely think we need a few more code reviews though before open source.

Just ignore this shit. I can guarantee you, no1 outside the die-hard altcoin-scene will ever hear about "Darkcash". Won't harm cryptos.

And BTW, if some crypto-currency newbs may fall for it & loose some bucks, they will learn a solid lesson from it. (The earlier you get ripped/scammed, the sooner you tighten security.)
Newbies get ripped/scammed in most (IT) "scenes", sub-cultures or mass movements. It's bad, but it's not a major problem.

Bitcoin is a new design for a fully peer-to-peer electronic cash system. A C++ implementation is under development for release as an open source project.

Main properties:
 - Double-spending is prevented with a peer-to-peer network.
  - No mint or other trusted parties.
  - Participants can be anonymous.

The network works in parallel to generate a chain of Hashcash style proof-of-work. The proof-of-work chain is the key to solving the Byzantine Generals' Problem of synchronising the global view and generating computational proof of the majority consensus without having to trust anyone.

Point 2: partly broken
Point 3: definitely broken

Synchronizing (USA spelling) vs. Synchronising (GB spelling)

Then, just check this forum....The time is based around GMT  Wink

Then, we have Satoshi issuing a warning in 2010:

No. Tongue

I've been wondering about this too.

How do you prevent rouges setting up hundreds of nodes that collect data about transactions, without a financial barrier to disrupt the network and create many men in the middle sniffing transactions as they pass around ?

Yea, that's why DRK's masternodes are not an ideal solution... because it is a centralized solution.

Exactly. And who are these node operators ? I'm sure it was nothing for them to give up a couple 500 DRK blocks for the buy in.

You may as well be riding a gator's back across the river.

Are they really making 1 BTC per week ?

the gators or the nodes?

My node gives me around 1 drk / week.. I wouldn't mind riding the gator x the river.. would be fun and not that dangerous as you picture it to be

Excellent article.

I hadn't considered this in such terms:

Quote
there is only one chance in 1.3 trillion for someone with twenty five masternodes (an investment of around 160,000 usd at today's price) to control the eight involved ones and trace the transaction.
