Great Brittan? Sweden?  Denmark?  Norway?  Nederland?  LOL, All of the above  on a boat?  LOL

Oh EAST, why am I thinking west?  LOL

Goodness, hummmm   Some of my grandparents came from what is now Poland (east) and Koenigsberg (maybe slightly north)

Are you in Finland?  Undoubtedly in the Baltic LOL

Will Darkcoin implement the Zerocoin protocol when it is available?

No, and nor should it. ZeroCoin uses research-level cryptography. This sounds fancy and impressive to most people but as a researcher myself, I would never trust more than $5 of my money on it. We just don't know how it could be exploited because it hasn't been around long. It has other hurdles as well, but this is the main objection.

In contrast, the CoinJoin approach is conceptually sound and doesn't make any drastic changes. Crypto transactions are irreversible and there's no insurance so I want confidence, not novelty.

So you're not renting a server then, right?  God, don't you just LOVE hardware?  I used to rebuild our computers like every 6 months, it's like an addiction!

eduffield, what's your opinion on this feature request someone posted on reddit:

http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/1zlq4q/feature_request_stealth_addresses_should_be/

Quote
Feature request: Stealth addresses should be default for sending/receiving and mined coins

Stealth addresses together with DarkSend would make the blockchain unreadable. Every payment on the blockchain would show up as a new public address, even mined coins would go to a new address each time even though it's all going to the same private key holder.
The only downside is that to update your balance you would have to input your password so that the blockchain could be scanned for public address+nonce that match your private key, but it's a minor issue.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Sx/Stealth[2]
https://gist.github.com/jspilman/8396495[3]

Might as well take privacy-centricity even further. Another thing to consider is Tor-compatibility like Anoncoin.

Ok. All good points.  I was unaware of potential exploits in Zerocoin but makes sense.

Well, neither am I or anyone else at this point. It's not that it's exploitable, but that it's so new that we don't know what could be out there. Maybe after a decade of academic exploration, I'd go for it, but not right now.

Anyone willing to try out darksend?  I have a transaction sitting waiting for other transactions for a couple of hours now.  If two more people are willing to try  it out, we can get a darksend to happen without further delay Smiley (and get my freakin coins out of limbo! LOL)
