I would like to see all good projects succeed including this one. I also would like to see those entering into the market to learn as well as to be wary of the Bob Surpluses in the scene. If you read my post history I have made many warnings that have gone mostly unheeded.

Interesting.  There were a few attempts at commercial crypto currencies going back to 2000 but failed due to centralization I would guess.  It wasnt until Bitcoin came by with its decentralized model that this stuff took off.

That was David Chaum's project - the cryptographer who invented blind signatures.

At this point we could have approached the community with what we were doing and asked the community to fund it, but this would have created a good deal of uncertainty in the market. Instead, I funded the purchase of Dashcoin out of my own pocket, which cost a substantial amount of money.

You are so generous Eduffield. After more than 2 millions DRK mined in few days, we need to thank you very much for such a generosity.

thank you for your kind words sir

edit : i knew you had it in you.. just keep them coming please, those kind words

I never get the problem of mining 2m coin at the beginning... You just should be there, stop acting like a child now...

Its absolutely the same as mining milions of bitcoin at beginning, you just should be there, but you aren't...

I never ever get people that troll or FUD. I don't understand the reason.  What is the psychological makeup of these people.  Do they thing it's an effective way of interacting with people.  I wonder what your wife,  spouse of mom or dad would think of this,  your work peers... Would they look at it as funny,  whity or productive.  Are these people that troll have other deeper psychological issues from childhood?  Anti social behaviour triggered by some traumatic past experience that are now Mal adjusted and feel the need to see read their misery to others? I don't really know... But Mr. White would be a great case study....

In addition to just being wired differently in the brain, a likely reason is sucking at life, being bullied at school by the cool kids, someone with nicer car cutting you off in the traffic, small penis, all sorts of things.

And now behind the keyboard no one can see what a loser you really are so it's time to get back even!

That's my theory at least.

bitcoin didn't mine 2 million coins in 2 days and then immediately slow it down again.

i don't understand how anyone can take this coin seriously considering it's been either broken or scam from the beginning

Those who were here at the beginning have not been able to mine darkcoin. It's a fair launch in your opinion?

I was there and mined successfully on Ubuntu running in VirtualBox on Windows 7.

If you were a Windows miner and didn't have free Linux operating system installed on a free VirtualBox you were just stupid.

In my opinion the launch sucked.

Facts are:
- the main dev launched darkcoin without windows and mac wallet (only linux)
- the main dev launched darkcoin without any pools available
- the main dev launched darkcoin without any instructions to even mine drk on linux

If you were a Windows miner and didn't have free Linux operating system installed on a free VirtualBox you were just stupid.

Then the majority of the population is stupid.

I would've thought that most miners who autofire F5 on the announcements forums trying to instamine every coin launch would have made sure they have a linux box handy. Hard to know exactly, but not having that option when it's totally free is imo just stupid.
