1. Cash is good. It is cash, not some payment network using third party currencies like ApplePay. Also bitcoin is not true cash because it is not 100% fungile. Why not highlight it?
2. Digital? Well, if you don't like it suggest something starting with D so there is an explanation of the name Dash - and also something that looks like C (cash) reversed: D
3. Anonymous? well, if you don't highlight it then people will just use Bitcoin, why bother with some altcoin? anonymous is the only feature Bitcoin will never gain (i believe, maybe sidechains only)

Edit: 3. Yes Private is better - but it's the same concept

Why these 3 words perfectly articulate "DASH"'s USP over fiat from merchant's perspectives......

P.S. Here's the Morgan Spurlock clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=f6FU-VTMt3Y#t=709

Very nice. I like the analogy. Thank you!

Could the text start from being CASH and the C rotate a few times and end up as D?

I'll add it to the list of changes I'm going to make later...

-snip-

anonymous is the only feature Bitcoin will never gain (i believe, maybe sidechains only)

sidechains may work technically, but they won't work in the real world.

moving from one asset to another is a disposable event under tax laws. You would have to keep a record of every transaction and tell the tax man.

also, any extra steps in a consumer process always lead to failure.

Old bastard: "Wot, I have to sidechain before I can buy Viagra? WTF!"
Old hag: "which button do you press to open the chains thing"

 Wink

Here is my take on DASH.

Don't like it, never will.

However, DASH when used with a D represented by a reverse C to spell Cash, well that could borderline on marketing genius and would have the potential to drive mass adoption.

DASH as a name would only serve to resolve practical issues of domain names and fonts for programming.

The marketing should be 100% focused on :)ash, like this:

I am just playing !
all i am trying to do is show
that the name is one thing
but you can build anything on top of that !

you can be the Hottest and Hippest (if you want to) with kiddunicorn with the right marketing
and the same with the best name ,screw it up by using the wrong marketing !

I agree, like the new logo style. It looks more 'mature' than the startrek font of darkcoin

I totally disagree with the negative connotations of using "digital" but i see where you are coming from on the anonymous vs private front. If we were still called darkcoin then i would agree about moving away from anonymous.

That's ok, but I think in these things it's more important to decide on what a message is saying and to whom rather than what we intuitively "like" or not.

The problem I have with the word "digital" is its ambiguity. Everything in the modern commercial world is 'digital' so its meaning depends on the perspective of the reader.

I've suggested that if it's a merchant perspective, then "digital" means "credit money" as opposed to "cash money". That's simply the criteria they are interested in.

If it's a consumer - i.e. someone who wants to use it to purchase goods - then 'digital' is potentially synonymous with "virtual". i.e. "stay away - it's virtual, not real", whereas nothing could be further from the truth.  Ambiguity always encourages people to assume the 'pessimistic case' rather than the optimistic if there's any value riding on it.

On the other hand 'cash' is what it actually is in monetary terms. An immediate payment. There's familiarity instead of ambiguity.

That's just my perspective obviously but every time I try to think it through another way I keep coming back to these conclusions.

Good one. And yes after dash stops, 'D' could rotate 2-3 times more but slowly.
Good suggestion too illodin

DASH - CASH is so cool. We could be on to something big here. To be honest it is more user friendly than btc.
