Function of the day  Grin

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

3)  my prime goal at this juncture is to ascertain the facts;

In this case you should go to https://dashtalk.org

Search and ask around. I'm sure you'll find all the answers you need.

Guys we have been down this path a million times, we knew from post one the guy was trolling. The MarleysGhost account is a sock-puppet account created by user a_cat_named_joe here you can see his profile:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=245678

This user came here on a crusade with his new account. They are trying to polarize public opinion with propaganda hoping that would bring attention towards DSH, so they come here to spam.

In all honesty we wish DSH the best we want all projects to succeed, none of these people with the exception of arielbit, who is actually a nice guy, were really involved with DSH before. The two projects have different names so they are free to be as successful as they want, so far I have not seen any active developments, no added value features, nothing. Their only plan is to have exchanges count 10,000 DSH as 1 DSH they are not even planning to supposedly do this change through a hard fork and actually change the supply, they just want exchanges to count it different.  It has been months now and nothing because is not a good idea.

It is amazing how cannibalistic the altcoin scene is, Dash is still by all accounts a very small project, yet people want to hurt it in pursue of what they feel is "justice". And they start using those hydra pictures, and trying to sell it as some sort of resistance movement and a bunch of cliches.

 Resistance to what?  We are all just people in our computers trying to develop new payment systems. We are not in the Tienanmen Square fighting for democracy.

 This is just a few people that feel the value said project brings is not in the technology itself or for the benefit of the end users. They feel the opportunity it represents is to make a statement against Dash. Is Dash that important?  You are basically telling your investors, invest here not because you may get a return, invest here because we feel this bothers Dash and we "believe" they represent the wrong ideals and need to be "put their place". But what is it that you believe? What is it that Dash deserves? Are we all anonymous judges of others now? That is very fanatic behavior and will never yield the results you hope for, it is an empty quest.

I just wanted to share with the rest of the community, I won't comment on this anymore. I really feel all projects should focus on developing their solutions and bringing value to the public. Doing things just to hurt others is not a good motivation and will never work. I honestly think is one of drawbacks of anonymous forums.  So be it, back to ignoring the trolls.

...

Its not us who are resisting rather it is those that oppose us flipping it on it's head and constructing a narrative that somehow there is a hidden agenda in here somewhere, whereas the reality is that everything is transparent as it can be for those who bother to look properly.

Guys... One small question.

I'll go in holydays on sunday, without the possibility to made a cold restart.
Did you think that it's good to make a quick stop/start of my hot daemon just before leaving for 2 weeks?

Well the daemon don't crash so much, but from time to time I must admit that some daemon stop (in the past month I have re-started ~25% of my MN once because of dashd not running anymore and have to make a cold start because of not detecting this crash quickly).

Edit: Those crash are probably du to cheap VPS Wink but not sure, I have to made more stastistics, and I use 4 diferents provider for my VSP.

Set maxconnections to 20. That has helped me achieve good stability with cheap VPSs. I still have a few MNs without this option, and some get 80-120 connections. That can't be good for a single daemon on 256 MB RAM.

Did you set up crontab?  It's this easy:

Code:
@reboot /path/dashd -shrinkdebugfile
*/20 * * * * /path/dashd -shrinkdebugfile

substitute in your own path.
Thanks will do it.
And today just one day before going to hollydays, one of my daemon stoped, well in fact was the VPS that was stoped no ping nada, need to reboot it (first time it happened), will apply those two tips :
1. to use less RAM and avoiding dashd to crash with low RAM VPS.
2. In case of crash it's relauch (every 20 minutes?) automaticaly and in case of reboot will start alone too.

Tks guys.

I think we have a good relationship Ariel, and I understand what you are trying to imply. The problem is that is not true, Dash historical relationship with DSH brought more attention to DSH and a higher market cap than it had before, that is a fact.  The thing is you, as a leader of DSH should push to improve the project if you want to, Dash has nothing to do with that, at some point the value needs to be more than just "lets hurt Dash".

I would love to see DSH be successful, it just feels you are in the same place you were months ago just antagonizing with Dash.

i'm no leader, where are the followers? i just like dashcoin, if misinformation about DSH spreads (specially here at DRK/DASH thread) i'm just here to debunk it..

The two things I'm losing sleep over right now (and neither of them are recycled nonsense about naming issues).

[1] - are sidechains going to be huge and solve all problems for bitcoin or aren't they ?

[2] - w.t.f. game is the EU playing at with Greece ? Why do they seem increasingly more relaxed (apparently) about letting it blow up ? Have they

a) - calculated that they can get away with it without creating apocalyptic mayhem in the Eurozone
b) - got some looming black swan event that's going to need the bailout cash more then Greece does

Regarding [1], there's this quite fascinating interview with Peter Todd from a year ago who points out some alarming issues with sidechains:
https://soundcloud.com/mindtomatter/ltb-e104-tree-chains-with

Tree Chains vs sidechains article (see comments at the end from "apparently" Vitalic Buterin et al):
https://coinreport.net/tree-chains-vs-side-chains-controversy-explained/

LoL ! Perfectly balanced diplomancy:

Yeah sorry, I never got myself to think about arielbit as a troll, of everyone he was the only one who was originally involved with DSH.  It got old now, really, I wonder if he sees himself talking about the same thing, this time next year. Anyway, won't happen again, I already said what I wanted to say on the matter.  Happy to donate to the tip jar.

some trolls seem to be having way too much fun and spent way too much time in here, makes one wonder if they
dont subconsciously already know they picked the wrong coin and community from the start ...

To them i ask to read the following carefully :

Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good
Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good, Dash is good

I guess they are playing as much hard ball as the greek, coming thursday will be a decisive moment. The EU limited the possible impact this could have on
other EU members as much as possible by setting up certain support structures recently (over the last few years) and obviously they feel more confident now.
