OK, the buy side on cryptsy is looking stupidly solid.

Is this what has been suggested regarding BTER?
Bitcoin hedging?
Something else?

If it is hedging, does this not happen with the other big coins? A quick look at coinmarketcap suggests not.

Would it be hard to also encrypt the wallet automatically, so when you launch the qt wallet, it would ask for a password first before you get to see the balance and transactions etc. And then ask yet another password when you want to send coins?

I know I could (and probably should) store the wallets on an encrypted partition, but the masses won't do that. And it would be easier to store copies of wallet.dat in the cloud etc if it was already encrypted.

From what we can tell there's a uncommon condition on the network (seems to be about 1 in 10 clients), where some databases have became corrupt. Please check your logs for these messages:

--

2015-02-15 17:34:26 ERROR: ReadBlockFromDisk : Deserialize or I/O error - ReadCompactSize() : size too large
OR
2015-02-15 17:34:26 ERROR: ReadBlockFromDisk : Errors in block header

---

If you find entries like that delete ~/.darkcoin/blocks and chainstate, then resync from the bootstrap:

https://github.com/UdjinM6/darkcoin-bootstrap

Thanks  Smiley

I was scared shitless 10min ago. I wanted to skim some drk from my MN to another address finding my masternode empty. 0 drk.
Looks like when you transfer drk the remaining drk automaticly gets another address?

Is it some safety feature so it always get mixed a bit?  Huh

Maybe thats needs to be an option, not manditory. It freaked me out for sure. Thought i did something wrong.

Anyway. Im re-pushing it to the node and restart my PI 2 when its there.

I think there's an option to not use change addresses... Which is exactly what you encountered... A change address.

Use the coin control to lock the 1000 DRK unspent input so it will remain in the same address. Otherwise the wallet might choose to send the 1 DRK or whatever you're sending from the 1000 DRK input and you'll end up with 999 DRK change in a new address.

Of couse its me doing it wrong i guess, since im not doing this stuff often and leave it as is. I do think the GUI could be more intuitive, but ofcourse that is not a priority atm. Waiting for my 1000drk to come trough. Still sitting at 0 confirmed for 30 min now. (non IX)

Is it safe to say

"More decentralized than bitcoin"

is a legitimate advertising point?

https://blockchain.info/connected-nodes

vs.

https://drk.mn/masternodes.html

seems to indicate that there are 241 more masternodes available on the darkcoin network than the entire bitcoin network.

wait for at least 15 confirmations before restarting darkcoind
if you have activated coin control (settings - options - wallet) you can go to tab Send - Inputs - List mode and from there either put a lock on the 1000 input amount
or make sure not to select that specific input amount ever.. in an outgoing transaction. I normally just select other input amounts than that 1000 and sent it out.

I will await the outcome of the Zeuner peer review of shadowsend v2.

Isidor has undertaken to also compare/contrast SSv2 with other anon systems, including yours (DRK MN's). The report should be illuminating for all.

So you will await the outcome of someone's review - await it for what? So you will decide what to do with your shadow coins? What happens if he says shadowsend is almost as good as ducknote, will you dump shadow and buy ducknote?

Who is Zeuner?

By all accounts Isidor Zeuner is a gifted cryptographer who's reputation precedes him. He has worked with BTC COre Devs and he is above reproach.

He is writing a peer review for ShadowSend v2 and will additionally contrast it to other anon architectures in this space (including DRK). This is not a code review but rather a review of cryptographic architectures.

I will be fascinated to learn how he compares DRK's two-tier MN architecture with Shadows bleeding-edge Non-Interactive Zero Knowledge Proofs implementation.

Ultimately the Shadow community has done a favor to the entire altcoin community by commissioning this review and it is quite possible Isidor will come out in your favor (bear in mind tho that SDC Team specifically asked for a compare/comtrast)

Gavin Andresen spoke about NIZKPs in DEV Core 2015
see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3INbCnEfZq4

With Respect illodin
Even if Isidor finds an issue with Shadow I have complete confidence that rynomaster and technovert will fix it as the consummate professionals they are.

p.s. Mixing 7000BTC of DRK might take a while.
p.p.s May the best tech win.
