Congratulations everybody on the great price rise last night.
When the gods (universe, your higher self) and you decide that you need to finally learn a lesson (maths 101) the hard way, they will bring the house down on you and then really try to bring it home by doubling the value of what you have just lost, it may seem harsh but it's just tough love, they did try many, many times to get your attention in less extreme ways but you choose to disregard the hints, some none too subtle, like 'Attention, inevitable disaster ahead, take care!' type warnings. Thanks for the well wishes on the price goodness atm You'll bounce back, np, don't worry stronger & wiser not hard

monero, LOL. Anybody have a reddit acct? Seems like they could use some education. EDIT ---------- dashication. Nope, pretty accurate. This is because Darkcoin is a commodity and will always be as long as the masternode system is in place drying up liquidity, defeating the purpose of "currency". Also it's anonymity is less than what's offered by ring signatures/monero. Those are just some of the financial and security flaws, ethics such as the instamine and various parameter changes also come into play. I think I told you already in another thread that DRK is divisible by 100,000,000. Darkcoin's anonymity takes different approach than the 10+ or so cryptonote coins. Both seem to be anonymous for all practical intents and purposes, far better than bitcoin tumblers or darkwallet, and both have different risk scenarios for the future. Cryptonote coins are putting their anonymity in the blockchain where it will remain unchanged forever. Darkcoin has its anonymity outside the blockchain, and can improve that part constantly. Cool, a 5 hour old sockpuppet account bashing DRK.

Thanks for the well wishes on the price goodness atm You'll bounce back, np, don't worry stronger & wiser not hard Thanks Otoh. I know what you are saying. I've bought as many DRK as I can afford and have received some really humbling donations from the community so I do have a stake in the race. Sadly my next payday isnt likely to be until the end of May so I've missed the opportunity to get a bigger stake while cheapish. Time will tell. As for me and Mrs Hedge, we're good. Occasionally very bitter about how much we needed what I threw away but we're at peace with each other and can only look ahead. We're going to crawl back, one DRK at a time.

Thanks, my day trading alter ego sold at .0180 but saying that makes it feel worse for you am thinking. Anyway, changing the subject, thought you were taking some much needed time out?

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release. Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5% Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1) = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Oddly enough, right below that you see this. I love the busy Dashers...saturday morning and a light hangover and 15 pages to catch up...was worth it, thanks for the Adam Curtis link... This critique above has not been answered or adressed, has it?

This critique above has not been answered or adressed, has it? How is it a critique? Well a terrible one at best. He just says "Darkcoin is bad mkaaay?". How is that any kind of argument. Also it looks like boilerplate because I read that empty "sub par anonymity"-phrase earlier somewhere else. No technical explanation whatsoever. Whatever happened to the pathetic "We can de-anonymize DarkSend tx"-crowd anyway? None of those losers delivered more than smack talk just like the guy in the screenshot. Edit: In the first paragraph he's not even talking about DRK/DASH so I disregarded it.

Ok, thanks! So my understanding is this: from a purely perfectionist theoretical technical point of view, Darksend might be "subpar", but it has no actual practical relevance because it is safe enough for real world usage? Correct?

Ok, thanks! So my understanding is this: from a purely perfectionist theoretical technical point of view, Darksend fucking rocks, but it has no actual practical relevance because it is safe enough for real world usage? Correct? Yep. It rocks.

this just proves how many fud'ers dont really understand how much Darkcoin / DASH modified and enhanced coinjoin with Darksend and how drastically the masternode blinding increases the anonymity process.

Ok, thanks! So my understanding is this: from a purely perfectionist theoretical technical point of view, Darksend might be "subpar", but it has no actual practical relevance because it is safe enough for real world usage? Correct? Why would it be "below average"? I have not seen a single substantial argument to that claim. Are we talking about a 51% Masternode attack? This protection against a cost prohibitive attack with a tiny chance of success is even better than the protection of Bitcoin against 51% attacks if you look at it soberly. We have real world examples of pools uniting too much hashing power and it can even happen by chance. Masternode anonymity can never be broken that way: "Oops I bought too many Masternodes lol... Let's try to deanon someone with a 0.001% chance!"Sure looks like "sub par" anonymity to me
