Jesus guys, I have been trying to benchmark some Monero times so I could update the Tao ratio in my signature for over a week.
I have been using the MoneroGui.Net-v0.41.1-x64 client, I waited 20 minutes today for it to find 1 single node and still nothing!
This has got to be the most icky and tedious client I have ever used and tested.

I did squeeze some results from the start of Monero blockchain download yesterday and they were.

seconds in real time= 4205 seconds =(1 hour 10 minutes 5 seconds)
Hours behind to update in wallet = 624 hours = (26 days)
Monero Tao ratio =  4205 / 624 = 6.739  seconds / hour behind

Consider this is at the start of the Monero blockchain and should be quick, later on will get worse with added bloat.
So the update speed difference = ( Monero tao ratio ) / ( Dash tao ratio )= 6.739 / 0.5434= 12.40

Conclusions so far :- Monero is 12.4 times slower at the start of its blockchain update than Dash's blockchain update at it's end.

Reservations :- Dash takes 42 minutes to download and synch the entire blockchain, Monero takes over 1 hour to merely update the first 26 days, there are over 303 more days to go !!

Lol!  Wow... Just wow.   Go figure.  Wink

Any Dash bets on the final speed difference at the end of the blockchain? hehe Grin Grin Grin

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

I'd like to initiate a dashberger meet up in Canada. I'm currently in Montreal taking my Sommelier course... So, if there are any peeps wanting to meet up for a bevie PM me, I'll see if I can wing it with my schedule here.

I feel I have to give you a small gift for all you have done for the community:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1x4bbo_tales-of-terror-1962-full-movie_shortfilms

You can fast forward to the 29 minute mark.  The scene lasts until around the 37 minute mark.  It's well worth your time.

Sorry sir.  I'm seeing posts flying around by members of the community  quoting trolls. Your correct,  it was my mistake, please accept my apologies,  as you had not quoted them.  Cheers.

You're a dashtard

Your English sucks

It's interesting how most of these dashtards can barely speak. I wonder if it's a brain defect or just a lack of intelligence.

Whats your second language?

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

The ignore button really is heaven sent... I had no clue how liberating it really was. Seriously, try it a few days, you'll never look back.

(not speaking to anyone in particular...)

Personally, I must say I find the trolls one of the most interesting things here (I mean, there are better places to get serious information about dash anyways). Informational warfare is becoming more and more common these days, and they are using exactly the same techniques. And they are quite effective, too: Just look at the last couple of pages, there's more talk about moero than about dash. So there may be some lessons to be learnt from them. Or I am just getting too cynical :-)

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.

Check this out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPAP

This is the Greek, ex-state owned (now privatized) monopoly on gambling.

The important stuff:

Revenue   €6.140 billion
Operating income €1.122 billion
Profit €1.021 billion

So just one gambling monopoly, of a small bankrupt country like Greece (10mn people), and it does in revenue twice the marketcap of ...BTC (!).

In order to ensure that money flows to this monopoly, the state is even banning IPs and DNSes of foreign sites, while also imposing severe financial penalties on players who play abroad. Penalties are also enforced against web pages for displaying promotional banners of foreign gambling companies. Players are also choked at the bank (when they will have to get their money back, after winning on a foreign gambling company). So money transmission of winnings is highly problematic when the bank must report to the state and the state has to fine you, say, 5000 euros.

Can you fathom what it means for cryptocurrencies when people start breaking free of these artificial restrictions? Crypto is the only available medium to do that right now. And gambling is just an example - it's just one market. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand the adoption potential and market cap implications.

Man, that is soooo mid-2014 for me  Cheesy - I'm off the stuff, it's too addicting and fun! But all in all bad for your health.

It's 2015. Price speculation aside, DRK/Dash has more than proven itself as a solid solid solid project. Any serious investor doing just basic diligence will see right through all this and go to dashtalk.org for the real juice. I get you dude, seriously I do.

But the ignore button really is magical.
