Just our of interest in the build up to 3k MN's, going back in time and trying to find any predictions made by the community or Evan on when 3000 MN would be reached. I'll see what I can find. In the meantime, anyone care to guess when we'll reach 3k, days or weeks I bite : 1 september 2015 we'll reach 3000. I think it's normal that increasing of number of MN, maybe because last month period I almost win the double than the teorical reward for MN. EDIT: after some more calculation, last month I win 50% more with my MNs than 2 month ago. (In DASH) (I took into account in the date that I'll install a new MN in ~10 days ) Edit: not sure it's a good idea to quote Ebolajx, even if this was during his "pro" moment, he still a troll and always will be for me

what kind of tweaking are you thinking of ? tweaking to incourage the amount of active masternodes beyond 3000 ? or tweaking to make sure it reaches the target of 3000 ?

That was a really old post where I introduced the increasing masternode rewards per month, after having a conversation with a equities expert that lives in phoenix (BabyGiraffe). The concept seemed to work perfectly, we're directly in the range that was targeted. The idea shown in that post is that the masternode network works sort of like a bond in practice, with an expected interest rate.

Its way better then what we can exspect from savings with banks these days where they either only give 1% or even force -1 % interest rates. Dash's masternode payment system has replaced bank savings completely for me personally. If i use bank saving nowadays its to have something set aside for emergencies (car repairs, holiday money etc) but not for the purpose of seeing it grow through interest rates, i will use Dash for that.

@Evan I guess I'm lost....
Was the word, "tweak" bring used as a 'matter of fact' statement or Is there some behind the scene thought's to actually tweak the MN system??
thx
the way i read it now is that Evan initially hoped we would reach 2000-300 active masternodes on our own but was forced to tweak the MN system (with the increased Mn payment schedule % ) so we would reach that target. Presently we are right on target and all worked out great...

Guys, ceti was just looking for old predictions about masternode growth, and what people thought back then. Just our of interest in the build up to 3k MN's, going back in time and trying to find any predictions made by the community or Evan on when 3000 MN would be reached. I'll see what I can find. In the meantime, anyone care to guess when we'll reach 3k, days or weeks eduffield, just joined the fun, by looking for a really old post(OCT 2014) when he originally decided to create the masternode sliding reward schedule. what kind of tweaking are you thinking of ? tweaking to incourage the amount of active masternodes beyond 3000 ? or tweaking to make sure it reaches the target of 3000 ? That was a really old post where I introduced the increasing masternode rewards per month, after having a conversation with a equities expert that lives in phoenix (BabyGiraffe). The idea shown in that post is that the masternode network works sort of like a bond in practice, with an expected interest rate. This was just a little trip down Memory Lane, completely unrelated to current developments.

One day a light-bulb moment will occur :-D ...almost sure of it - lol Its not that they can't understand, its that they can not see past the small mindedness of instamine (yawn) and scam(more yawn) etc, they appear stuck in terminal confirmation bias iterative loops.

The last ones that I set up were on the 9th of July with Regato, so nope not me, my number of minions has been steady since then though I've had a lot of demand from people wanting to buy the rewards to set up their own and this from new people mostly, also I know of one guy on the dash talk forum who's just set up 25 MN with Node40 this week, he bought on the exchanges. I also have a standing order from one UK guy who is buying a lot from me daily starting from a few days ago, not sure what he does with them though.

You said it very well, but those guys aren't understanding. I think they are ideologically blind. I think a lot of them (that is, coders in this space) are ideologically blind. Please don't let that slow you down though, because other people read your posts and understand, or at the very minimum, one day, one of them may have a lightbulb moment.

Weren't you going to mention Dash to a few big hitters, did they take any notice, what was the feedback ?

Otoh, Evening there Am wondering how did that cryptocurrecy show go in Jersey at the start of July. Weren't you going to mention Dash to a few big hitters, did they take any notice, what was the feedback ? Evening It was an amazing conference, very professional indeed, mostly geared towards trusts, trustees and lawyers who work with them, a lot of fun knowing more about crypto than so many smart people gathered together to discuss it, they definitely saw it as something that their clients would be asking them to either buy with their trust funds or place already bought/mined ones in to trusts with them and I was able to point them to secure ways of doing this with Bitcoin at least, I didn't get in to DASH with them as they were mostly focused on Bitcoin or just the concept of crypto in general, they were too new to it all and a bit skeptical of the whole scene to be very receptive I thought, but I made some good contacts and if I need legal work done locally or with crypto I shall certainly use the company that organized it and it's quite possible that I may also set up a trust with some of my coins as they are allocated to go to a charitable donation and other beneficiaries, so I would be certainly talking about DASH then I imagine. Edit They also looked in to what crypto was, like money/currency/commodity, etc, what regulation would be applicable, one of the speakers is advising Jersey on drafting proposals for this atm, https://bitcoinmagazine.com/21183/government-jersey-publishes-consultation-paper-risks-regulation-digital-currencies
