Could someone suggest stable darkcoin pool for failover? Currently i'm using drkpool.com as main and i need one reliable for failover, tried suchpool.ws, but it has issues, seems under ddos.
DarkcoinTalk.org Pool is reliable and you currently get 25% bonus. We are now rewarding miners with 25% more income for the next 100 blocks found by the pool.
Starting at 8pm EDT on May 20th 2014.
If a block is found worth 10 the reward for you miners will be 12.5 Darkcoin.
The reason we are doing this, is because DarkcoinTalk is involved for the long haul. We believe that Darkcoin will be just as important as Bitcoin. (maybe even more) The pool helps pay for the server costs of the forums. We do need support to keep adding new features and to constantly improve this site as well as others under the same name.
We are hoping that after the reward, you will stay mining at our pool and make it your primary. Mine with a pool that is giving back and helping Darkcoin, not a pool only made to make the operator money.
We encourage you to register immediately to set up your workers and get everything set up. Thank you for mining with us. We'll make this currency global and as well known as Bitcoin.
-DarkcoinTalk.org
Be advised, note that at the same as this incentive we will also be introducing a standard 1% mining fee and reducing transaction fees to 0.01 DRK!

use p2pool and have 2,3 p2pool nodes configured automatic failover, no mining loss. and distributed infrastructure. Never used p2pool, maybe it is good opportunity to try. Ok, so for Europe location(Ukraine), could you suggest 1-2 pools ?

Why not use a p2p node closest to your location with your wallet address as a failover? use the ones with lowest ping times http://drk.poolhash.org/sgminer -o stratum+tcp://pool1:port -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p whatever -o stratum+tcp://pool2:port -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p whatever ... and so on or create yourself a config file and use that one sgminer --config MyFile.conf Just Remember p2pool is PPLNS, so it takes up to 24 hours to reach full payouts.

Be advised, note that at the same as this incentive we will also be introducing a standard 1% mining fee and reducing transaction fees to 0.01 DRK! This is true. So far six blocks have been found with the bonus. Making it more profitable by 75% currently.
Ninety four blocks to go.
Edit: Math eluded me for a second. The pool is only more profitable by 25%.

How hard is it to get 2FA into the Darkcoin client, if at all? Might be a good way to introduce a version of multi-sig edit- Might be easier to just wait and introduce multi-sig at some point in next year or so.

MadBitcoins wants to interview the Darkcoin devs. They already bought Darkcoins and like the fact that DRK is not a clone, it has innovation and the devs have the pictures and identity in the public domain ~8.40 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQTKgJ1ADWc

Ok, last thing. Regarding masternodes, can I connect remotely and then close the wallet with 1,000 drk, or must it stay connected and running? Confused because I thought we could do this prior to the update, but it now seems like we can't. I am probably wrong on any and all counts.

The local wallet has to remain running at all times.

The local wallet has to remain running at all times. cool. thanks. Prior to the update it was possible but this was actually due to a bug on the system it was not intended and had other implication besides this indirect benefit. Thus, this was corrected on the latest version and now you have to have the local wallet always online. In the future the option of a cold wallet may be added, but as of right now it is not possible.

please answer: a) was your address generated by the wallet or imported (brainwallet, paperwallet) b) did you generate the phrase yourself (the secret key) c) did you use your phrase/wallet-key anywhere else=? d) is your phrase/wallet key guessable ? (name, birthday, combination of words that appear in the dictionary, "aaa" "123" "hello" "nooneknows" "password"... etc Ok, I understand you completely, so: a) was your address generated by the wallet or imported (brainwallet, paperwallet) This is local (home desktop) computer. The wallet is from official darkoin.io site b) did you generate the phrase yourself (the secret key) I invented myself password c) did you use your phrase/wallet-key anywhere else=? Unique is only for this wallet d) is your phrase/wallet key guessable ? (name, birthday, combination of words that appear in the dictionary, "aaa" "123" "hello" "nooneknows" "password"... etc The pass phrase contains big and small letters, numbers, special characters, is not intuitive mh... i have no idea. can someone take over?I'm no expert but imho scan your computer thoroughly in search for key-loggers, rootkit and malware.

Everyone keeps saying to update to 10.8.6 but when I update from http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoind the version I get is v0.10.8.5-2-g8e508af-beta. Is the 10.8.6 daemon for ubuntu 64 hiding somewhere? WTF am I missing here? Moved my wallets to my MNs but they still won't stay active for more than a couple hours.

So what the heck happened to the local /remote setup for Masternodes? No longer valid? Pulling my damn hairs... worked flawlessly on testnet, yesterday I flip to main net on 10.8.6 and no longer working (apparently)
I was just reading about this, it seems it'll work for about 1/2 an hour, then go to : 0 then eventually drop off the list if your remote wallet is in cold storage. This feature has not yet been implemented. Evan said right now, you must keep your remote wallet online. But he said it should be possible to make it so that eventually it could be taken off line, but not at this time.

Should be 100806. Don't worry about them coming and going on poolhash.org, there's still some interference from older versions, it seems to be improving with time. AFAIK if your MNs can see themselves/eachother you're fine.

So, next question - my understanding was that this version should stop your MNs from taking random falls off the face of the earth. Am I mistaken? Others still having the same problem? edit: What version does getinfo report? Should be 100806.

OK cool I just fail at understanding then. Thanks again.
