I added some details of the event. I will offer pizza for the first international participant (who doesn't come from Finland) Cheesy

At least Sirius (http://sirius-m.users.sourceforge.net/), 2nd bitcoin core developer after Satoshi, will be attending the event. I don't know if he is working on bitcoin core any longer...

It seems really interesting. I'm from Sweden though so I have to get everything to work with my studies and so on but I might be able to attend.  Smiley

Great Smiley

Btw, there should be enough space for everyone: http://dev.aaltovg.com/2011/07/avg-spatial-development-2/
The space is under renovation currently, after the renovation it should be very suitable for this kind of event.

I'm going to work on django-bitcoin (https://github.com/kangasbros/django-bitcoin) and simple amazon mechanical turk clone (using django). If anyone wants to join me, just send me a message Smiley My skills are on the backend, so CSS/front-end guy would be optimal, maybe with a little copywriting/marketing skills.

Also other participants are free to discuss ideas for the weekend in this thread Smiley

I'm happy to inform that Nokia's IdeasProject (http://www.ideasproject.com/) will be sponsoring Bitcoin Hackathon.

If you implement any of the ideas listen on the IdeasProject's page on the Hackathon, you will receive a free Nokia Phone, any current or to-be-released model.

Just tell what IdeasProject idea are you implementing at the start of the event.

kangasbros, are you participating in Summer of Startups?

I have not participated in Summer of Startups myself, but I have been attending much Aalto Entrepreneurship Society events and also organized one tech event myself (DjangoCon Finland) Smiley And also being self-employed one-man-business, I have been doing some coding at Aalto Venture Garage now and then.

Location change: Because the renovation at Aalto Venture Garage is heavily delayed, we have to keep the hackathon at Desing Factory, which is right next to the Aalto Venture Garage (Betonimiehenkuja 5).

Also I'm happy to announce that Mt. Gox will be sponsoring the hackathon. I guess everybody here knows about Mt. Gox, the biggest bitcoin exchange in the world Smiley

That is awesome.   Damn, seemed like a cool ass event.    I was going to ask to post pictures and more links from the even, but the Facebook page seems to have a lot of stuff.

Actually I minimised/changed the project pretty heavily, and it turned out to be that connects freelance translators and those who want translations to be done. Stay tuned Smiley

Also django-bitcoin is pretty much usable now, so if you want to create your marketplace/escrowservice/bitcoin-powered bittorrent site/whatever, you can do it more easily now! Cheesy
