its not going down.. its been 15sat these past days

Yes I am checking on exchanges its not moving just staying on this rate for last few days

I completely overlook this metric, it is for people that work on swing patterns and are glued to cryptsy chat window 24/7 not that there is anything wrong with it  Cool

By far more interesting is socialx program and fact that people , and I repeat, simply like design/name/ideas of this coin

Thanks to reddice.me and ScryptHasher I am new to reddcoin so I found your article very interesting.  For a new user coming in one of the issues with reddcoin is that the time to an expected reward if you stake shows up as a very long time.  Say I scrape up 100K Redd to check it out.  (I know this may not be much, but remember we are talking about people new to Redd.)  When I get time to reward of 200+ days when staking it is very discouraging.

Obviously, I am probably missing something, but simply doing a .01% reward per day staked (5%/365) would give some positive feedback to people new to the coin.

Good Luck!

The time to reward will half exponentially as your coins age. And the rewards for your staked coins after they pay out will reduce each time. Which promotes economic movement by paying out more for newer coins.

Apologies in advance a for potentially stupid question :

I've got 300,000 in my wallet and have had 200,000 for over a month. 100,000 was added about 24 hours ago.

I am staking and my wallet says "Expected time to reward is 8 days"

It has said that for about two weeks now.

I have no amount showing under "stake" and never have had.

I'm running v1.3.1.0-unk-beta because when i tried to download the most recent wallet, it refused to install and i have to backup, delete and start all over again.

Do i have to do anything at all other than encrypt my wallet and then unlock it for staking ?

I have read and read and read this forum and the Reddit site (obvs!) and i just do not know what I'm doing wrong ?

Not enough RDD in the wallet perhaps ?

Regards all, thanks for your patience and any help you feel like giving.

I too just recently downloaded the local reddcoin-qt wallet and have opened it up for staking.  Currently it's indicating 4239 days until first stake reward?!  Is this normal?

Your wallet is showing an estimated time to pay out reward. Look at each coin as a lotto ticket that is competing with everyone else who has purchased stake in Reddcoin. Limiting the economy creates value in the currency if it was easy to create coins the coins would never increase in value. Don't worry you will most certainly gain 5% annually on your coins it is just taking a while to get your first reward.

This number will drop dramatically as your coins age your coins are virtually guaranteed to pay 5% by volume annually. The percentage is an estimate but you will not earn less than 5%. Your coins could pay you tomorrow, a week even a month from now but they will earn.

Thanks this seems to have worked.  I know I tried it before but I did not delete the folder after uninstalling.

Here is the error I get and I cannot find any info on what to look for to fix it.

Grab your wallet.dat file from your reddcoin roaming folder run %appdata% to find roaming. Put your wallet.dat file in a safe place so you don't lose your coins somewhere like my documents or whatever. Then reinstall reddcoin-qt or the social wallet. Download new source file from reddcoin.com

Hopefully you wallet is not corrupted.

let me know how this works out

The newest Reddcoin QT doesn't even open on my MBP. Any ideas as to how to access my wallet? It hasn't functioned properly for the past 3 updates or so.

Ok this is the weird thing that happens.
Once the wallet is sync'd and tries to stake it gives the following error.  It does not run long enough for me to even transfer the coin out of the wallet.
Any ideas on what it would be?  I have all the permissions set ok and nothing is interfering.

That is strange, I am no professional but I can toss out some suggestions. You can try the social wallet and see if that works or you can try running the wallet on a different machine make sure you have the latest qt version from reddcoin.com and transfer your wallet using a flash drive. All said it kinda looks like your wallet might be corrupted, don't take my word for it but it may be the case.

Try moving your wallet.dat file to a safe folder then run reddcoin-qt let it generate a new wallet and see if it runs, if it works post a receive address.

I am starting to think it is because I have an SSD in the system I am using.  I have the Samsung Magician on there.
The Social Wallet so far is up and running I am going to send some coins to it to see what it does.
I will let you know.
I do not have any issues with any other wallets. I have everything closes just the Reddcoin wallet and oddness. LOL
