So if no one can find a node and no mining pools are left open it's pretty funny that this coin is still being traded on cryptsy right?

It's more funny that it's been like that for a while yet the coin inflation keeps growing.

So someone is mining it.  It would be nice if at least the inflation stopped for a while.  The constant dumping on Cryptsy tells me 1 million new Cash coins per month are still being mined and Dumped.

24 active miners on http://cash.n50.ru and this pool holds only 20% of network hashrate.

And here is a lot of active nodes from my wallet's connections:

Code:

Is thete any working CASH explorer? At least something where I can check difficulty? I do not want to install CASH wallet and sync it. If that was right, and difficulty increased 10 fold, than there would not be such high sell presure. It is very easy to buy CASH now.

As far as I know there is no CASH block explorer, but you can check the current difficulty on active mining pools, this one for example.

Current Difficulty is 1.92156575 and total network hashrate about 300 Mh/s.

It can still be mined here
http://cash.n50.ru/index.php
and is still traded on Cryptsy, but has no active Dev, so not dead, but terminally ill at the moment, and likely to die very soon if someone doesn't step up to save it, but that won't be me.

I did look at trying to compile the wallet on a Raspberry Pi, so I could leave that running in the background to give another node for the coin a few weeks back, but ran into some issues with it and have more compelling issues to work on than trying to save this coin at the moment.

Hey everyone, Nut0.1's asked me to pop by and let you know where we're at.

A new VPS has now been sourced to host all of the things again, we've grabbed one that accepts bitcoin so we'll be looking to have a donation ticker on the new website to show required amount each month and amount raised (for those that don't want to look at an explorer), along with another domain that we'll be directing towards it.

A web dev has (hopefully) been pinned down, just need to let him know what we're looking for and pin down a price (he's happy to accept CASH and has been a bitcoin supporter from way back when it was <$10), but we still have yet to nail down an actual wallet developer. We have someone in mind, but they're cautious about taking over someone elses coin and steppin on their toes. Given that the OG developer's a scammy douche and not logged in for > 6 months, that shouldn't be hard to sort out. However, if anyone has any recommendations, please let us know soonish.

When the wheels start turning properly and there's proper news to reveal we'll be grabbing Twitters, FBs, a new BTC thread (this one will need to die as we're unable to get the permissions transferred to allow us to update the OP) along with other forums and such, if you're very active around CASH (more than myself lately), willing to help out, trustworthy and all that good stuff, let us know, we'll need people to keep those outlets up to date and replying to queries.

It's still going to be a while until things are updated, under control and moving smoothly, so you may want to take the time to snaffle up whatever CASH you can if you're looking for a store of value here as we'll hopefully start getting the market cap back up to a reasonable level in good time after re-launch.

Best person to speak to about general CASH stuff is still nut0.1 as he's the one keeping me engaged lately, for the more technical stuff, I'm the one apparently to speak to, at least until we have a wallet dev nailed down.

I've not kept up with this thread so I may have missed such talk, but what are people wanting to have on:

The website (explorer (and which one), list of and links to merchants, games, currency exchange calc, mining calc etc...)
The Wallet (news feed, auto updates, new algo, mixing service etc....)
Bare in mind, the more complex and the more that's changed, the longer it'll take and the more it'll cost.

I was about to sign off with "so long and thanks for all the fish", but I figured that sends entirely the wrong message, so I'll say.

YAY, things are still happening with CASH \o/

Thanks, TaxNut.

Cinnamon Carter is sensible [unlike the OG dev].

Reassure her that we're all behind her coming in and helping out.

Once thing we need to do for this relaunch is what we agreed upon with the last dev which was a significant reduction in the inflation and dilution.  I believe we agreed on 16 million or so but I don't remember what the subsidy was gonna be cut back to.

It would be so nice to stop this 1 million coins per month bleed BEFORE the next boom starts which should come any day now.  It would greatly help to increase the value of CASH when demand comes back.

So I hope we can make the code changes as soon as possible.

I would like to raise a generous bounty for the new dev whom I think is Cinnamon Carter.

Knowing her she won't ask for anything - she genuinely likes to help people but I don't think that's fair.  She works and has a life and helps out lots of people so it's only fair we give her a good bounty for helping us out.

We have quite a few large holders of CASH right now - given the price has been so cheap for months, and 1 million new coins have been getting mined per month.

The last time we raised funds I was almost all alone in donating any meaningful amount of CASH coins.

Can we get some involvement, please?  At least the guys who hold tons of cash, please pitch in.

It's only right.

I will start the dev Bounty pot with 50,000 CASH.

Let's make it something meaningful.

Cheers!

"errors" : "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Redownload Blockchain. If warning persist contact the Development Team"

i get the above error but i can still deposit coins to cryptsy and got a little stake for the first time so i find that abit confusing.
a new dev for this coin would be great.

The checkpoint is used to provide extra security to the coin, this uses an external checkpoint server, when the dev abandoned this coin that stopped being updated which is why you get that error.
It will still work, but it means we have lost one extra layer of security for the coin.
I'm assuming a new checkpoint server is part of the plan if this coin is going to be saved.
